Kitchen, Dining and Living Area
The pièce de résistance of Doyden is undoubtedly the fantastic open plan kitchen, dining and living space. With BoConcept sofas, a cosy central wood burner, designer pieces from Aram London and a gorgeous Italian marble dining table, this beach house pairs seaside living with complete luxury.
Opening out on both ends, the first floor is incredibly spacious. Relax on the sea-view balcony and gaze over Polzeath Beach or take shelter away from the sunshine with a refreshing drink on the enclosed deck terrace at the rear.
Let your favourite soundtrack reverberate through the first floor as you stream albums and podcasts through the Bang & Olufsen music system, which connects to Apple AirPlay, an iPod dock and an aux cable. For a moment of calm away from the coastline, settle down in front of the TV for a movie night using the Blu-ray or DVD player. If you can’t agree on a film, flick through the Sky+ package to find the designated series of the night.
On days where you aren’t eating at one of the north coast’s renowned restaurants, opt for a homemade meal in the sociable open plan kitchen. With an integrated Gorenj fridge-freezer, a double Rangemaster induction cooker and a Dualit kettle and toaster, you’ll be all set for relaxed breakfasts or family dinners. On rainy days, take advantage of the Nespresso coffee machine and Kitchen Aid mixer for a warming coffee and slice of homemade cake.
Please note: guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob, as this can interfere with the device.

Polzeath
Beaches and watersports
One of Cornwall’s best surfing beaches, Polzeath is perfectly suited to families, bodyboarders and first-time surfers. The local surf schools offer high quality lessons and equipment hire, and George’s Surf School is a brilliant option for one-to-one tuition. A string of iconic beaches can be found along the coast path, including Greenaway, Daymer Bay and Rock. If you’re looking for adventure, we’d recommend coasteering with Cornish Rock Tors and kayak trips with Harlyn Surf School.
Outdoor pursuits
This stretch of North Cornwall is heavenly for walkers, with lovely routes from Polzeath to Daymer Bay and on towards Rock. Catch the water taxi from Rock to Padstow and spend the day walking or cycling the wonderfully scenic Camel Trail – there are plenty of options for lunch along the way. If golf is your activity of choice, head to the St Enodoc Golf Club in Rock. Alternatively, Trevose Golf Club and Bowood Golf Club are about 35 minutes away.
Food and drink
Polzeath is home to a plethora of beachside cafés for a quick snack or ice cream. We’d recommend The Waterfront or Cracking Crab for something a bit more substantial or the range of restaurants and pubs in Rock, including The Mariners. Padstow is just across the estuary from Rock, with award-winning options like Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 for special occasions. If you love trying out local tipples, then a full or half day experience with Cornish Wine Tours is not to be missed.
Time for pampering
Just above Polzeath is the rustic-luxe Cowshed Spa at the St Moritz Hotel. The ultimate space to relax and unwind, opt for a quick beauty fix or an indulgent full or half day package. The Scarlet in Mawgan Porth is a great alternative option for holiday pampering, with a range of restorative treatments on offer. Using a range of organic and natural luxury skincare, you're sure to leave feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated.
Activities for children
There are plenty of alternatives to family beach days nearby, including the Camel Creek Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm World, where little ones can meet the animals before letting off some steam in the indoor play area. Younger children will relish rainy days spent at the charming Macdonald's Farm near Porthcothan. For history enthusiasts, we’d recommend a day trip to the mythical Tintagel Castle, which is about 35 minutes away by car.

What a pleasure it was to rent a house via Perfect Stays. There was always someone friendly at the end of the phone (without having to wait in an endless call centre queue) who could answer all my queries, or over the email which were swiftly responded to. Nothing was too much trouble, from giving recommendations of local caterers, to arranging cleaners to come mid-stay to do a full laundry change when we had a changeover of guests. The house was clean, airy and even better than how it looked on the website! I would definitely rent a house via Perfect Stays again, no question.
”Thank you for a fabulous stay in a beautiful house.
”Polzeath feels like coming home, this was our first stay at Doyden and we have loved the location. We have loved kayaking, swimming and dining out. Thank you for a terrific house, we'll be back!

”Our party consisted of four adults and two young children and we all enjoyed a wonderful week at Doyden Beach House. There are stunning views of the beautiful beach all the way to Pentire head from the balcony. The house is spacious and has comfortable king and super king sized beds. We would rate Perfect Stays very highly, all queries etc were dealt with in a polite, friendly and efficient manner.
Thank you to all staff involved.
”
We have just spent another wonderful week at Doyden. It really is perfect and in a fantastic location with the most amazing views. Polzeath has a special place in our hearts, as we've been having an autumn half term week holiday here since our girls were small - now they are married and come with our grandson. As our family grows, I know we will continue our family tradition. My eldest daughter says, as you drop down into Polzeath, you leave your troubles at the top of the hill.
Doyden has everything and more you need for a lovely week. We cannot recommend Doyden enough.
”Wonderful property in a great location. We found the house to be immaculate when we arrived and it is furnished beautifully. Great service and advice from the concierge team too.
