Set over three floors, this distinctive property takes full advantage of its stunning outlook. The balcony is set right on the water’s edge, and there’s nothing more peaceful than watching the sailing boats and yachts passing by on a breezy summer’s day.
With a delightful contrast of rustic nautical features and sleek contemporary fittings, Waterside has been lovingly finished to an extremely high standard. Every space has been designed with socialising and relaxation in mind, from the cosy living area to the stylish breakfast bar looking out across the estuary. The entire top floor is open plan, but the cleverly zoned living spaces create an extraordinarily intimate feel.
One of the shining stars of Waterside is the cinema room, which features a projector screen and atmospheric lighting. The three spacious bedrooms are gorgeously styled in a combination of rustic and chic coastal décor.
Elegant and sleek, the two en-suites and one family bathroom add an extra touch of sophistication to the design. Flexible sleeping accommodation in the cinema room increases the property capacity to eight guests.
Located near Salcombe Harbour and with the South West Coast Path on its doorstep, Waterside is perfectly situated for discovering South Devon. Just a short walk, sail or boat ride from some of the county’s prettiest swimming beaches and with outdoor steps leading straight down to the crystal blue waters, this property is a watersports haven. Waterside is also just a short five minute stroll from the heart of Salcombe and its range of boutiques, galleries, cafés and restaurants.
With access to the luxurious Salcombe Harbour Spa included, enjoy use of the indoor swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna and fitness suite throughout your holiday.

Adorned with a delightful mix of fabrics, patterns and textures, Waterside’s thoughtful design is showcased in the comfortable lounge. Waterside is set right on the water's edge and access to the property is via several flights of steps (43 steps in total). For this reason, we wouldn't recommend Waterside to guests with limited mobility and young children should be supervised when using the outdoor areas. There are also steps around the internal areas of the property.
Unfortunately, stairgates aren't compatible at this property.
This property doesn't have an electric car charger, but there are public charging stations located nearby. You can find them here.

Salcombe
Beaches and watersports
Perfect for sailing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding, Salcombe is surrounded by pretty coves and beaches, including North Sands, Mill Bay and Sunny Cove. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the eastern side of the estuary is South Sands – a beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear waters and great facilities. If you’re feeling energetic, catch the ferry to East Portlemouth and embark on the four mile walk to Gara Rock Beach, which has stunning views. About 20 minutes away by car is Bantham Beach – we’d recommend Bantham Surfing Academy for lessons.
Outdoor pursuits
One of the joys of Salcombe is the sheer variety of walking options in the area including the famous South West Coast Path. Salcome to Snapes Point is a lovely undulating route with exquisite views across the estuary. A great way to explore the coastline, embark on a scenic boat trip to Kingsbridge or Burgh Island with Adventure South. Golfers will be spoilt for choice with three courses within 15 miles of Salcombe – Bigbury Golf Club, Thurlestone Golf Club and Dartmouth Golf Club.
Food and drink
Serving the very finest, locally sourced South Devon food and drink, you’ll find everything you’re looking for from Salcombe’s excellent range of restaurants, cosy pubs, delicatessens and cafés. Set right on the water’s edge, The Crab Shed serves excellent seafood and locally sourced shellfish. For great pub food, head to either The Victoria Inn or The Fortescue Inn, and the Salcombe Deli is perfect for a quick lunch. To add a bit of sparkle to your holiday, book a taster session at the Salcombe Gin Distillery.
Activities for children
When the children tire from endless days on the beach, take your pick from Dartmoor Zoo, Woodlands Adventure Park and the River Dart Country Park, all within a 25-40 minute drive. Animal lovers will love the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, which aims to preserve endangered species of farm animals and the diversity of British wildlife. The Buckfast Butterfly Farm and Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary are alternative options for rainy days. For healthy, child friendly dining in the heart of Salcombe, you can’t miss The Kidz & Co Soft Play Café.
Time for pampering
Set just along from the harbour is The Salcombe Harbour Hotel and Spa. The minute you walk into the spa, you enter a world of pampering, luxurious treatments and tranquillity. Using the world-renowned ESPA range and treatments, their experienced and welcoming therapists will offer a holistic approach, leaving you feeling truly refreshed. The spa is home to five treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna and crystal steam room and fitness suite, which is open seven days a week.
Heritage and culture
A treasure trove of models, paintings, photographs and artefacts, the Maritime Museum tells the story of Salcombe’s nautical past, from ancient times to the Second World War. There’s plenty to amuse and engage younger visitors, including tales of local smugglers and pirates as well as hands on displays and models in the ‘young sailors’ corner’. Perched high on the cliffs above Salcombe, Overbeck’s Museum and Garden is the former seaside home of inventor Otto Overbeck. Now a National Trust attraction, explore the subtropical gardens and Edwardian House before tucking into an obligatory cream tea in the tearoom.
Festivals and events
Held in August each year, the prestigious Salcombe Town Regatta is packed with activities for the whole family to enjoy. Held for over 150 years, this exciting event celebrates maritime culture with street parties, live music, unique contests, delicious food and sailing competitions. It’s an unmissable week of fun that concludes with the famous fireworks display over the water. Salcombe is also home to the annual Crab Festival, where locals and visitors come together to celebrate local fishing and tourism, while of course there's the option to sample some tasty crab.

A truly stunning property in an outstanding location. Great for long walks without having to get into the car and equally great for a stroll into town for local shopping and dinner. The property has been decorated to a very high standard. It was like a home from home for us. It was also an added bonus to be able to use the spa from the Harbour Hotel, and we were even blessed with great weather for November so it was a win win holiday!
”Waterside is a fantastic house on the edge of the estuary. The house itself is designed, decorated, and furnished with meticulous tension to detail. The location is ideal for walking to Salcombe, water sports and the beach, and excellent family restaurants are on the doorstep. A great house for a family holiday.
