Exuding timeless elegance, Brynia captures the joy of gathering up the whole family and settling into life by the sea. Occupying an enviable position above Daymer Bay, spend time watching the ever-changing tides from almost every room. Outside, a bubbling hot tub and large grassy garden await after days spent exploring the surrounding coastline.
Set over two floors, Brynia is classic in design and boasts sweeping views over the Camel Estuary and Stepper Point - two of Cornwall's most-loved coastal locations. The open plan kitchen and dining area is the central hub of the home, where buttery toast and cups of tea can be devoured as plans are made for the day. Just next door, the living area is finished in soft neutrals with window seats designed to soak up the scenery.
A separate TV room sits just behind the kitchen where a Samsung Smart TV welcomes popcorn-filled movie nights, and a stylish reading room just off of the living area makes the perfect retreat on rainy days.
Join the coast path from the bottom of the lane to explore the hidden coves and sheltered bays at the mouth of the Camel Estuary. In the warmer months, unwind in the sea-view garden before preparing al fresco lunches on the terrace. When it turns chilly, curl up in front of the wood burner with a novel and watch as golden hour descends on the horizon.
With five bedrooms to choose from, three enjoy their own en-suites and sublime ocean views. Meanwhile the fourth and fifth are designed for younger guests and share an elegant family bathroom. Finished in gentle blues, greens or pinks, each bedroom has a unique and welcoming feel.
One for lovers of the north coast, a stay at Brynia will leave you choosing between wild swimming at Daymer Bay, surfing Polzeath’s famous waves and sailing off the coast of Rock - all on your doorstep. Or venture a little further afield with a wildlife watching walk over Hawker’s Cove on the neighbouring headland, before stopping in Padstow for seafood suppers at the likes of Green's or Paul Ainsworth's Mahé.

Daymer Bay
Beaches and watersports
Backed by sand dunes, the beautiful Daymer Bay looks across the Camel Estuary and is dog-friendly all year round. Just along the coast path towards Polzeath is the quieter Greenaway Beach, while the expansive Rock Beach is in the opposite direction. This stretch of coastline is perfect for coasteering with Cornish Rock Tors, and Polzeath is one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall. Rock is also well known for sailing, with the watersports haven of Harlyn Bay also nearby, ideal if you're looking to try something new and exciting on your next escape.
Outdoor pursuits
The walk from Daymer Bay to Polzeath is highly recommended and there are some stunning routes around Pentire Head and across to Port Isaac. Catch the water taxi to Padstow or drive to Wadebridge to embark on the scenic Camel Trail - a flat, family-friendly path for walkers and cyclists. Golfers will love the renowned St Enodoc Golf Club, just 10 minutes away, and Trevose Golf Club and Bowood Golf Club are about 35 minutes by car.
Food and drink
The Waterfront and Cracking Crab in Polzeath are extremely popular and the Four Boys Café, The Pityme Inn and The Dining Room are delectable dining options in Rock. For casual meals and post-sail drinks, try The Mariners in Rock, which is run by Paul Ainsworth. For special occasion meals and award-winning cookery schools, head to the foodie mecca of Padstow just across the estuary. Daymer Bay is also surrounded by vineyards, including Trevibban Mill and Camel Valley.
Activities for children
There are plenty of alternatives to family beach days nearby, including the Camel Creek Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm World, where little ones can meet a variety of farmyard animals. Younger children will relish rainy days spent at the charming Macdonald’s Farm near Porthcothan. For history enthusiasts, we’d recommend an educational day trip to the mythical Tintagel Castle, which is about 35 minutes away by car.
Time for pampering
Just a stone’s throw from Daymer Bay is the rustic-luxe Cowshed Spa at the St Moritz Hotel. The ultimate space to relax and unwind, opt for a quick beauty fix or an indulgent full or half day package. The St Enodoc Spa in Rock is a great alternative option for holiday pampering, with a range of restorative treatments on offer. From deluxe facials to bespoke body massages, indulge in a moment of calm in one of the many luxurious nearby spas. Slightly further afield, The Scarlet is home to an open air sea-view hot tub, perfect for soaking up the fresh Cornish air after a calming facial or invigorating massage.

Three generations of our family recently stayed at Brynia in Daymer Bay and this is an amazing house. It far exceeded our expectations and must be by far the best property we have stayed in. The house is huge and beautifully furnished with an enormous garden which our grandchildren made full use of. Of particular excitement was the secret den in the children's bedroom. The TV room was a great success too and also the quiet sitting room to escape to with a book. The views from the house are stunning overlooking the Camel Estuary where there is always lots of activity so handy to have some binoculars. We thoroughly recommend Brynia and are certain if you choose to stay you will not be disappointed.
”Perfect Stays have the most wonderful properties in their portfolio and Brynia was topnotch. The staff at Perfect Stays were very responsive and immediately acted on any queries, nothing was too much trouble. The local property management company were also excellent. The owners have decorated and appointed the house beautifully, with lovely attention to detail. A fabulously stocked kitchen with all cookware and tableware, big and small, that a cooking enthusiast could wish for. Living areas were great with loads of places "to be", inside and out, for everyone together or quiet times individually. The view was just exceptional.
”First of all, Brynia was magnificent, it was better even than the photos. Perfect Stays always respond to emails immediately, and couldn't have been more helpful. They booked restaurants, taxis etc. for us. They recommended walks, and were always there to help with everything we could need. I would definitely use them again.
”What a perfect week- we're all still smiling from ear to ear and have the warmest hearts full of beautiful memories! Brynia is such a beautiful house that feels like a home; the interior is stunning and the location, breathtaking. Everything we needed was there. It felt like the best combination of utter luxury yet welcoming, comfortable and relaxing. The children adored their room; the little nook of a playroom felt magical, and the cinema room was the perfect way for them to unwind after a blissful day on Daymer Bay, which is only a short walk away. We found it hard to eat out (even though the host left lots of great recommendations) because there is nowhere any of us would rather be, than overlooking the sea, watching the sun go down with a drink and barbeque. It's rare to find such perfection in a week away, something that suits every member of the family from our five year old to my 80 year old father, but at Brynia we did and we can't wait to return!
”We were lucky enough to stay at Brynia in July last year. Oh wow. What a house. The views are sensational, we started with just the four of us, two adults, two children and the house felt cosy and homely and a great place to come back to after a day of fun on the beach. We then had some friends and family come to stay and the house came alive, it's amazing how it just flows. Firm family favourites included cricket and tennis on the lawn and patio, and endless fun in the hot tub. Rosé whether inside or outside is always glorious but relaxing at the end of the day on a sunny evening on the terrace or in the living room was sublime. Brynia is quite simply heaven and a very very special place.
”The house is beautiful, position is very good and all the rooms are very comfortable and well looked after. Perfect Stays were so helpful and we had a great time. The huge garden was a bonus for young children and the welcome pack was a great bonus. Thank you.
