Taking its name from a small cove on the neighbouring headland, Lantic Barn is a gorgeous coastal barn conversion. Styled in a soft blue colour palette, every room complements its surrounding sea views while maintaining its original charm. Outside, an enclosed swimming pool, paved courtyard and grassy garden await on sunny days, while Fowey and Polkerris are just a short drive away.
Three of the five bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, while the remaining two sit under wooden beamed ceilings upstairs. Enjoying ever-green views and chandelier lighting, the master bedroom is a sublime haven for couples. Though there’s no short straw when it comes to choosing rooms, as three feature walk-in waterfall showers and the other two share a gorgeous neutral family bathroom.
Dog-friendly and with plenty of beautiful walks and cycling trails nearby, including the historic Saints' Way, Lanhydrock and Woody's Bike Park (on-site), a stay at Lantic Barn is well-suited to active family getaways.
Return from morning adventures and lounge in the cosy living area with the sliding doors open to reveal views over the distant shores. Next door, the traditional kitchen-come-dining-room provides a sociable space for everyone to gather for holiday suppers, while the outdoor table makes a welcome addition during the warmer months.
Never too far away from the action, there’s plenty to do near Lantic Barn. Great for foodies, the picturesque town of Fowey is home to some of Cornwall’s best restaurants and eateries with the likes of Appleton’s, Fitzroy and The Old Quay House. If laid back beach days are on the cards, take to the South West Coast Path to discover some of the county’s most tranquil coves. What’s more, the Eden Project is only a 15 minute drive away for afternoons spent wandering the botanical biomes.
A low occupancy rate may be available for smaller groups out of season. Please contact our team for further information.

Kitchen and Dining Area
Reminiscent of a countryside cottage, the kitchen-come-dining area sits under exposed wooden beams and is finished in coastal blues and fresh white lime plaster. Large sliding doors offer views over the picturesque garden, while glistening shores are never too far away. Designed with family gatherings in mind, the large wooden dining table seats up to 10 guests in the centre of the room.
Whether it’s breakfast made with farm-laid eggs, or lovingly prepared ploughman’s lunches, everyone will love gathering in the sociable kitchen over a meal. There’s also an under-the-counter fridge and freezer, a Bosch oven and dishwasher, as well as a Nepresso Magimix coffee machine, meaning the kitchen is well-equipped with holiday essentials.
Living Area
Homely and inviting, the living area sits at the heart of the ground floor, with the kitchen to one side and two downstairs bedrooms to the other. Adorned in gentle blues and duck egg greens, two sumptuous sofas will beckon after days spent on the beach. With sliding doors onto the terrace, savour the warmth of the evening sun over board games and puzzles at the coffee table.
Master Bedroom with En-suite
An idyllic couples' sanctuary, the master bedroom is styled in sophisticated monochromes and natural wooden accents. A cast iron four poster bed commands the space and sits under beautiful vaulted ceilings. Bathed in natural light, the master bedroom also benefits from dual-aspect windows with views over the terrace and lawn.
Come morning, head into the en-suite for a refreshing waterfall shower, then join the rest of the group for coffee on the patio through the bedroom’s glass doors.
Bedroom Two with En-suite
Tucked just behind the living area, bedroom two makes a calming ground floor refuge. With a double bed for relaxing mornings, this room features beautiful blue and grey interiors. Framed by the home’s distinct timber beams, bedroom two feels blissfully private, while never being too far from the rest of the group.
Wrapped up in white wooden paneling and complementary greys, the adjoining en-suite benefits from a spacious waterfall shower.
Bedroom Three with En-suite
The last of the ground floor bedrooms, this gorgeous room is finished in soft greens and neutrals. A zip and link bed means it can transform from a super king to a twin, so younger guests are well catered for during holiday sleepovers. There’s also plenty of storage with a large freestanding wardrobe, and just next door is an en-suite with a waterfall shower.
Utility
Opposite the front door, the utility features the same neutral cabinetry as the kitchen, and also benefits from an additional sink, Zanussi washing machine and tumble dryer.

The addition of a Juliette balcony welcomes in the sound of birdsong in the warmer months, while also framing views over Cornish fields. Choose to have the room made up as either a king or a twin, thanks to the versatile zip and link bed.
Family Bathroom
Home to a waterfall shower and encased in wooden paneling, this light and airy bathroom is shared between bedrooms four and five.
Bedroom Five
Up on the first floor, bedroom five is a real ode to the home’s origins, with its exposed beams and low windows which offer views over the rolling countryside. Styled in fresh whites and warm neutrals, this room feels instantly cosy with the addition of soft throws and blankets on the king size bed. Begin the day by getting ready at the dressing table as fresh countryside breezes flow in and out.

Outdoor Pool and Shower
Located at the front of the house and surrounded by luscious green lawn, the enclosed outdoor pool invites warm days splashing in the shallows. Heated from April to October, there’s no better addition to a summer holiday than slipping on swimwear for some time beside the pool.
There’s also a handy outdoor shower nearby to rinse off wet hair before supper. Alternatively, make this your first port of call for four-legged friends and muddy wellies after days spent roaming the coast path.
Terrace and Garden
A shady paved terrace sits directly outside of the kitchen, making dinner al fresco the natural choice each evening. With a large dining table to seat 10 and a charcoal barbeque, enjoy lunches on the patio before retiring to the lawn for an aperitif in the sun.

Fowey
Food and drink
With many waterfront restaurants, cafés and traditional pubs to choose from, Fowey is a well-established foodie location in Cornwall. From authentic homemade pasta to beautifully prepared fish dishes, Appleton’s should always be on your must-visit list when dining nearby. Make a reservation at The King of Prussia for elevated seafood suppers and excellent service, or enjoy al fresco lunches at their sister restaurant, North Street Kitchen. When beach picnics beckon, head to Quay Bakery and Kittow’s Deli for incredible fresh sourdough, local cheeses and traditional Cornish pasties. Or if you’re just after somewhere for breakfast, enjoy oat flat whites and avocado toast from Brown Sugar Café.
Outdoor pursuits
Whether it's a coastal walk, forest bike rides or rounds of golf, there’s plenty to keep the whole family busy nearby. From the centre of Fowey, wander along the esplanade to discover some of the best views over the river, before climbing the headland to the ancient St Catherine’s Castle. From here, you can continue the route over the hills to Gribbin Head or join the Hall Walk from the harbour to explore Polruan across the water. If you’re looking for something a little more energetic, cycle the many trails that await at Woody's Bike Park or head to Cardinham Woods for a leisurely route beneath the trees. Or drive 20 minutes to enjoy an afternoon on the 18-hole green at Lanhydrock Golf Club.
Beaches and watersports
Tucked away on the calmer south coast, Fowey sits amongst some of the best beaches and coves in Cornwall. When the sun is shining, head to Readymoney Cove for an afternoon of sandcastle building, before dipping tiny toes in the gentle waves. Closeby, Fowey River Hire offer guided kayaking tours, or choose something a bit more fast-paced with a sea safari and keep your eyes peeled for sunbathing seals. A little further afield is Carlyon Bay; known for its long stretch of golden sand and turquoise waters, it’s another great option for families. Best for swimming, kayaking and paddle-boarding, Polkerris is an all-round favourite amongst locals and is easily accessible. For those looking for a sandy walk with four-legged friends, head to nearby Par Sands which welcomes dogs year-round.
Activities for children
Nearby, the Eden Project promises to keep everyone entertained no matter the weather. From exploring the botanical biomes to discovering their year-round calendar of events, there’s always something new to enjoy during a visit. For little imaginations, wander around Fowey’s historic aquarium which is home to a whole array of local sealife. Be sure to visit around midday to watch the octopus have his lunch, before picking up lines and bait to enjoy an afternoon of crabbing on the Quay. Not far away is Charlestown’s Shipwreck Museum, a one-of-a-kind attraction full of treasure and tales of Cornwall’s perilous shores.
Festivals and events
For a week every summer, the streets and waters of Fowey fizz with live music, carnival processions and yacht racing with its annual town regatta. For an authentic Cornish experience, catch the much-loved Fowey Town Band carrying the giant pasty through town to kick off the week of celebrations. For something a little more laid back, the town hosts their literary festival every May in honour of Daphne Du Maurier, who used to live just across the water. Come winter, visit at Christmas time for their food and drink festival which takes place on the twinkling harbourfront.
