This contemporary home sits a short walk away from Daymer Bay and Polzeath which are on its doorstep. From the tranquil blue and crisp white colour palette to the sociable living areas, One Trenoweth evokes memories of sunkissed seaside holidays. Sleeping eight guests across four light and air conditioned bedrooms, it won’t be long before everyone settles into life on the Cornish coast.
The real piece de resistance is the heated outdoor swimming pool. With vast bi-fold doors that open straight up from the living space and onto the suntrap garden, guests can come and go between the inside and outside with ease. Blissfully private for morning lengths and evening dips alike, the pool area is dotted by palms and greenery. Sun loungers and a large dining table sit close by, ready to host al fresco wining and dining.
Upstairs, there are four bright and light bedrooms, with two benefitting from en-suites. The master enjoys most of the day's sun, so begin each day with breakfast teas on the balcony and end them with starry sky nightcaps. In addition, there are two king size rooms and another featuring a 6ft zip and link bed to accomodate family sleeping arrangements.
Thanks to the open plan layout of the kitchen, living and dining area, younger guests can enjoy games tournaments on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 from the comfort of the sofa, while supper is prepared and glasses of fizz are poured around the island. The combination of a fiery wood burner in the living space and air conditioning upstairs mean that One Trenoweth beautifully transforms itself from the height of summer to the depths of winter - perfect for hunkering down on chillier evenings.
Enjoying an enviable spot above Daymer Bay and within easy reach of Rock and Polzeath, a stay at One Trenoweth places you in the heart of North Cornwall. Look forward to family beach days on Daymer’s peaceful shores before taking to the coast path in search of sea-view suppers at the Cracking Crab or small plates and cocktails at The Mowhay.

Kitchen, Dining and Living Area
The kitchen, dining and living area blends seamlessly into one large social space. Complete with a central island accompanied by a wine cooler and pair of bar stools, take a seat to keep your private chef company as supper is prepared. The dove grey kitchen is beautifully complemented by its black marble countertops and monochrome tiling. Also home to a Fisher and Paykel fridge-freezer, DeLonghi coffee machine and AEG appliances, it’s well-equipped for foodie escapes and picnic preparation.
The dining area invites long lunches and celebratory suppers, with a large wooden table seating eight guests. Exposed bulb lighting and oak wishbone seating adds to the home’s contemporary design, while seascape prints pay homage to the surrounding shoreline.
After supper, retire to the living area where two sumptuous sofas await. Perfect for putting your feet up, choose between the charcoal grey and cream before switching on the Samsung Smart TV. Owing to its villa-esque design, the living area has bi-fold doors which open directly onto the terrace and swimming pool. Sheer curtains keep the room cool during the day and transform it into a cosy nighttime hideaway once dusk falls. During the winter months, return from windswept walks to the golden glow of the wood burner and while away the hours with a mug of tea and a hardback in hand.
Utility
Finished in the same dove grey cabinetry and wooden countertops as the kitchen, the utility is tucked away just beyond the main living space. Here you’ll find an additional sink and plenty of storage, as well as an AEG washing machine and tumble dryer.
WC
Also on the ground floor, you’ll find a small WC just next to the entryway.

Backed by sand dunes, the beautiful Daymer Bay looks across the Camel Estuary and is dog-friendly all year round. Just along the coast path towards Polzeath is the quieter Greenaway Beach, while the expansive Rock Beach is in the opposite direction. This stretch of coastline is perfect for coasteering with Cornish Rock Tors, and Polzeath is one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall. Rock is also well known for sailing, with the watersports haven of Harlyn Bay also nearby, ideal if you're looking to try something new and exciting on your next escape.
Outdoor pursuits
The walk from Daymer Bay to Polzeath is highly recommended and there are some stunning routes around Pentire Head and across to Port Isaac. Catch the water taxi to Padstow or drive to Wadebridge to embark on the scenic Camel Trail - a flat, family-friendly path for walkers and cyclists. Golfers will love the renowned St Enodoc Golf Club, just 10 minutes away, and Trevose Golf Club and Bowood Golf Club are about 35 minutes by car.
Food and drink
The Waterfront and Cracking Crab in Polzeath are extremely popular and the Four Boys Café, The Pityme Inn and The Dining Room are delectable dining options in Rock. For casual meals and post-sail drinks, try The Mariners in Rock, which is run by Paul Ainsworth. For special occasion meals and award-winning cookery schools, head to the foodie mecca of Padstow just across the estuary. Daymer Bay is also surrounded by vineyards, including Trevibban Mill and Camel Valley.
Activities for children
There are plenty of alternatives to family beach days nearby, including the Camel Creek Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm World, where little ones can meet a variety of farmyard animals. Younger children will relish rainy days spent at the charming Macdonald’s Farm near Porthcothan. For history enthusiasts, we’d recommend an educational day trip to the mythical Tintagel Castle, which is about 35 minutes away by car.
Time for pampering
Just a stone’s throw from Daymer Bay is the rustic-luxe Cowshed Spa at the St Moritz Hotel. The ultimate space to relax and unwind, opt for a quick beauty fix or an indulgent full or half day package.
