Commanding elevated ocean and headland views, Owls provides an idyllic escape from everyday life, set above Mawgan Porth Beach. Ideally located for surfing stays, family get-togethers and special occasions, discover the beauty of the North Cornish coastline from this private hideaway.
Expertly designed by Sprout Architects, the reverse living layout ensures sparkling sea views from nearly every room. The open plan living space occupies the whole ground floor, with large sliding doors opening onto a west-facing deck, while downstairs hosts four double bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom.
The interiors showcase a gentle, tonal colour palette. Rich tan leather and engineered oak floors add warmth to winter escapes while the rattan accents and organic linens see it transform into a summertime beach house with ease. The quartz-topped kitchen is equipped to the highest standard with Siemens appliances throughout and a sizeable island taking centre stage. From here the stunning raw oak table provides the perfect setting for celebratory dining, while the split living area ensures cosy evenings watching the waves roll into shore.
Backed by a sea vista, the outdoor space is simply sublime. Listen to the sound of the waves as drinks are poured on the terrace and the charcoal barbeque is fired up. The hot tub enjoys a wonderful view, while remaining blissfully private and peaceful. Set over two levels, the landscaped gardens are great for roaming dogs and the gate at the very bottom leads you directly towards the beach and coast path.
One of Cornwall’s most-loved holiday destinations, Mawgan Porth is brimming with surf schools, sea-view restaurants and dog-friendly walks. Enjoy wetsuit-clad mornings with Kingsurf before relaxing on the beach and tucking into a seafood lunch from Catch. The South West Coast Path weaves its way through the small village, so discover the delightful Bedruthan Steps and Watergate Bay within a short ramble. Choughs and fulmars are also known to frequent this stretch of coastline, so with binoculars and walking boots at the ready, it's a real joy to uncover the secrets of Mawgan Porth on foot.

A luxurious retreat for couples, the super king bed ensures a restful night’s sleep and the adjacent en-suite comes complete with a decadent waterfall shower. Fresh white linens and marine blue accents adorn the space with heavy linen curtains and blinds transforming it into a nighttime hideaway with ease.
A dressing table, antique chair and built-in wardrobes also cater for those making themselves at home, and the terrace sits just beyond the sliding doors. Begin each day with a refreshing soak in the en-suite shower before taking cups of tea into the garden for a welcome dose of sea air.
Bedroom Two with En-suite
The only room at the back of the house, bedroom two benefits from being the largest, with a spacious en-suite. Finished in striking reds and brought together with beautiful wooden furnishings and soft carpeted floors, this bedroom radiates an uncompromised warmth. A versatile zip and link bed and hanging clothes rail make it great for little ones sharing, with a Samsung Smart TV, PlayStation 5 and sumptuous bean bags transforming it into a cosy rainy-day hideaway too.
The contemporary en-suite is also nothing short of sublime, with its mottled grey fish scale tiles and a walk-in waterfall shower.
Bedroom Three
Doused in natural light from the sliding doors, this bedroom also benefits from an ocean vista. A zip and link bed makes it easy to decide on a super king or twin room, depending on your group size, while built-in wardrobes and a dressing table cater for everyone's storage needs. Styled in soft greens and navy blues, this room beautifully complements its views where the headland and beach are visible as soon as morning breaks.
Access onto the terrace and garden is also made easy thanks to the sliding doors. Join the group for al fresco breakfasts as plans are made for the day and the surf report is surveyed from the garden.
Bedroom Four
Enjoying sea views that stretch past the terrace and garden, bedroom four is a mirror image of bedroom three. This time, rich greens, rattans and golds finish the interiors, making it another beautifully designed and welcoming space. Backed by a intergral grey headboard, find a sumptous king size bed with plenty of storage space ready and waiting, thanks to the large built-in wardrobes and dressing table.
On warmer days, peel back the sliding doors and allow the sea breeze to roll through the bedroom. And with the hot tub just mere footsteps away, tiptoe over the decking for a stargazing dip with loved ones.

More about theGround Floor
Open plan Kitchen, Dining and Living Area
Occupying the entire breadth of the ground floor, the carefully designed open plan kitchen, dining and living area is certainly something special. Overlooking incoming tides and sunkissed sands, the large sliding doors reveal an incredible backdrop.
As you step through the front doors, the kitchen sits to the right. With its commanding island, dove grey cabinetry and quartz countertops, it becomes the first port of call for clinking glasses and admiring the view. Punctuated by striking pendants and teal accessories, the kitchen introduces subtle playful touches that make it a real home-from-home. Home chefs will relish hosting in a fully equipped kitchen with Siemens appliances and a Bora induction hob, while a Nespresso Krups coffee machine and Smeg juicer take care of everyone's drinks.
Opposite the kitchen area and overlooked by an original seascape, the subtly lit raw oak slab dining table seats all eight guests comfortably. Enjoying views out to sea, every meal instantly feels celebratory. Serve a continental affair for breakfast or indulge in a three-course menu come evening, all backed by an ambient playlist, courtesy of the Samsung Soundbar.
Engineered oak floors take you effortlessly into the living area where contemporary interiors radiate a subtle warmth. Split into two spaces, it's easy to break away to the sophisticated reading nook on one side while others may opt for a film on the Samsung Smart TV on the other. Dotted by rich leather and white boucle armchairs, the left-hand side is where card games and sundowners are best enjoyed, while the right is home to a large grey l-shaped sofa destined for laid back evenings. Complete with Sky Sports and Cinema access, flick through the channels in search of something to keep everyone entertained, or simply pull back the doors and allow the ocean panorama to unfold.
Please note, guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob as this can interfere with the device.
Sea-view Balcony
Once golden hour descends, spill out onto the balcony for champagne cocktails and watch the orange glow engulf the bay. Large sliding doors mean you can extend your living space into the fresh air, and even pull up chairs after supper to continue conversations late into the evening.
Sand Room
One for the beach-lovers of the group, the dedicated sand room provides the perfect pit stop for those returning from the waves. Accessible via the back door, the aptly named sand room is equipped with a waterfall shower, heated towel rails and additional storage. Rinse off wetsuits and salty hair in the outdoor shower before stepping in here to warm up.
Utility and WC
To the right of the front door is the utility room. Finished in the same dove grey cabinetry as the kitchen, the spacious utility comes complete with another Kenwood fridge, sink, wine cooler and a Miele washing machine and tumble dryer. Opposite, you’ll find a handy WC which services those using the first floor living space.

We absolutely loved Owls. The quality of the furniture was perfect, as well as all the kitchen items. The house was so comfortable - a real home from home. Thank you to your lovely office team for all the help with restaurant suggestions and trying to help me find a house for next year as sadly Owls is already booked for that week in 2025! Otherwise, we would have rebooked in a heartbeat!
”Owls is a magnificent place to stay. Beautiful sea view from the balcony or inside looking out through the wall-to-wall glass. The views are enhanced by the upside-down configuration of the house and works well. The upstairs having a fully open arrangement makes it very cosy with different areas defined to add to the definition of the vast open space. Very quiet inside and out and just a very homely feel to it complimented by ample parking just outside the front door. We would certainly recommend this place to anyone.
”We had an amazing stay in this stunning accommodation with breathtaking views which hit you every time you entered. We were celebrating my mum's 80th birthday. We loved how the property had bedrooms downstairs allowing uninterrupted views from the open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas. All the crockery and utensils were of a very high standard making cooking an effortless pleasure. We would love to return and will recommend it to friends.
”The beautiful house had everything we needed and more. Lovely open plan living area (with stairgate), a well-equipped kitchen and a great utility area for sandy beach returns. The beds were super comfortable, rooms were quiet and with blackout curtains. Everything was beautifully clean. The garden (accessed from the side door upstairs or bedrooms) was a lovely little sun trap, it has seating and a handy gate for access to the beach - oh and a hot tub too! We loved our stay and hope to return next year, thank you so much.
