There’s a tempting array of local pubs nearby too, including The Cornish Arms in St Merryn. Rick Stein’s Padstow Seafood School will teach you how to forage for your supper, while exploring the world of Cornish wines at Camel Valley or Trevibban Mill comes highly recommended.

Padstow’s annual Christmas Festival is the perfect way to kick off the festive season. Usually held at the beginning of December, this popular fishing village comes alive with an array of tastes, smells and sounds. The biggest day in Padstow’s calendar, May Day sees the town come alive with flags, flowers, greenery and maypoles.

Only a short drive away, you’ll find the award-winning Cowshed Spa in Trebetherick. Further along the coast in Mawgan Porth, The Scarlet Hotel Spa offers some of the best holistic treatments in the area. With an indoor heated pool, hot tubs and outdoor sauna, treat yourself to a spa day or evening. The Fistral Spa in Newquay provides a lovely setting to relax and unwind with a dip in the pool, or treat yourself to an indulgent massage.
Activities for children
A real children’s playground, Trevone and its surrounding areas have plenty to keep little ones entertained. Pull on your wellies and set off for a day on the farm at Dairyland Farm World, let the kids run riot at Camel Creek Adventure Park or take to the seas with a wildlife safari. With go karting tracks and zip wire experiences nearby to provide the adrenaline rush for the thrill-seekers of the group, you’ll never run out of options come rain or shine.
Outdoor pursuits
Pick up the coast path from Trevone and head towards Stepper Point near Padstow, which affords spectacular coastal views. The nearby Doom Bar and Camel Estuary are well worth a visit too. We had another fantastic stay at The Quarter Deck this year. A wonderful beach house with plenty of space for all of us with kids and dog in tow. The garden deck is a real sun trap for lazy mornings. Perfect location for a saunter down to Trevone Beach or a longer stint across the South West Coast Path. Perfect Stays living up to its name. We'll be back.
”The Quarter Deck is perfectly located in Trevone and all it has to offer: the beach, the shop and café and the farm shop, plus walks to Harlyn Bay and Padstow along the coastal paths. The house itself is one of the best we have been to. Two outside spaces that are great for sitting in the sun throughout the day; lovely chill out room upstairs, with the glorious window that looks out onto the sunset; enough bathrooms for 10 guests and the perfect kitchen, dining area. We enjoyed the Pig, Rick Stein's Seafood and Paul Ainsworth's restaurants as well as the cocktails at the Trevone café as well as their excellent coffee and pizza. A fab time was had by all of us, and we would love to come back. Oh, and the lovely taxi firm Perfect Stays arranged for us, were the best.
”We have just had a glorious week at The Quarter Deck, Trevone. The sun shone every day and the house is perfect for a multigenerational holiday. The lookout provided a wonderful setting for evening gatherings and sunset viewing. The decks provide sunny sitting all day and great barbecuing area. The kitchen is very well equipped and has plenty of place settings. The welcome hamper was well received, especially by the children who have been well versed in "jam first "! The walk to the beach was not arduous and we were able to get on the coast path very quickly. Thank you all , we had an amazing time.
”What a wonderful house, so much space and an amazing lounge upstairs. The kitchen has everything you need. The outside space has a very large table and chairs plus a barbeque. Plenty of parking spaces outside the front. Trevone Bay is beautiful and fantastic for children. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Perfect Stays.
”The Quarter Deck was the perfect place for our family get-together. We loved the different areas that meant all of us were able to enjoy our time there - the lookout was the very best place for an early morning sunrise watch and an evening chill out where everyone could come together. The downstairs bedrooms and snug gave our youngest members the perfect place to play safely and have a quiet bedtime. We particularly enjoyed the peace and comfort of the master bedroom - bliss!
Perfect Stays certainly lived up to their name too, providing an excellent service, and a little extra help too when we needed it. Recommend them very highly.
This house is absolutely wonderful. Beautifully decorated, spacious, warm and welcoming. It has everything you need for a "Perfect Stay" (excuse the pun). We have stayed in a lot of holiday homes in Cornwall (our first with Perfect Stays) and this is by far the best house we've had. It's the little things like lots of cooking essentials, sharp knives, huge fridge freezer that make it a real home from home, the beds are comfy, the layout of the house works, its just lovely - in fact we loved it that much we booked again for this year.
”We have just had a wonderful week at The Quarter Deck in Trevone. The house had everything we needed for a family get-together - lots of open space, very clean and a well thought out house. The fabulous large kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed; all the bathrooms had lovely hot showers; and the wonderful upstairs lounge was perfect for admiring the views and playing lots of games! It is only a 5 minute walk to the lovely beach and there is plenty of parking places outside the house. The welcome basket had lovely tasty quality products which was very welcome thank you - especially the Cornish cream tea!!
Overall, a really lovely property in a fabulous location. Perfect Stays were an excellent Company to deal with - good regular communication, and even checked half way through the week that we were happy - very good customer service. Very happy!!
