Completely unique and with spectacular sea views, The Yellow Cottage is set in a truly magnificent location on the wild north coast of Cornwall. Traditional in design but modern in function, its beautiful New England style interiors exude character in abundance.
Set over two spacious floors, almost every room looks across the ocean. Nominated for a design award, the Stephen Graver kitchen is finished in powder blues and soft creams and features an Everhot range cooker. A collection of candy-striped armchairs and plump sofas gather around the cast iron wood burner in the sitting room, creating the cosiest of spaces once the sun sinks beneath the horizon. Whilst the high vaulted ceilings and direct access onto the terrace result in a bright and breezy feel on hot summer days, there’s also a separate TV room for holiday movie nights.
Perfect for older family members or guests with limited mobility, the charming king size bedroom on the ground floor comes with its own en-suite. Upstairs, another king size room and en-suite sit beneath gently sloping eaves. A further two bedrooms on the first floor sleep five guests between them.
Surrounded by a large landscaped garden and a spacious south-facing terrace, The Yellow Cottage is wonderful on balmy summer days. And when the weather takes a turn, it’s the perfect spot for watching the storms roll in whilst the wood burner roars.
Surfers, swimmers and sunbathers will love the sweeping Trebarwith Strand Beach, whilst walkers will relish the proximity to the coast path.
Ideally located for exploring this rugged stretch of North Cornwall, Tintagel Castle and Boscastle are a short drive away and the foodie hub of Port Isaac is less than 20 minutes by car.

Accessibility notes
The Yellow Cottage is suitable for guests who are able to manage a couple of steps around the internal and external areas. There are two steps at either side of the garden: one set (of two steps) is at the front of the house but can be avoided by using the concrete ramp. The second set (of two steps) is on the sea-facing patio.
Since The Yellow Cottage is a coastal property built on the headland, we'd recommend guests with limited mobility are driven down to the car park for easiest access onto the sand. Please find more details about The Yellow Cottage on our Homes with Accessible Features page.

Trebarwith Strand
Beaches and watersports
The beautiful tidal beach of Trebarwith Strand is great for surfing or bodyboarding, although the waves are a bit peaky for beginners, so we’d recommend lessons with Trebarwith Surf School. During high tide, head to the nearby Polzeath Beach, Daymer Bay or Rock Beach, which are all family friendly and have a wide range of watersports on offer. Summerleaze Beach in Bude is also about 35 minutes away by car. There’s also nothing quite like kayaking or paddle boarding around Port Quinn, Port Isaac and Port Gaverne.
Outdoor pursuits
The South West Coast Path runs through Trebarwith Strand and leads to Tintagel in the north and Port Isaac in the south. Hire bikes in Wadebridge and join the scenic Camel Trail to the foodie hub of Padstow – with a range of baby buggy attachments and tandems, the whole family can join in. Stop off in Padstow for a quaint walk along the harbour, where you can soak up the views and enjoy a Cornish pasty or crab sandwich. Golfers are spoilt for choice with Bowood, St Enodoc and Bude Golf Clubs all within a 35 minute drive.
Food and drink
The Port William pub sits in the heart of Trebarwith Strand and serves hearty food and great local ales with a view. The Mill House Inn is another good option nearby and is just a short drive away. For incredible produce and tasty breakfasts and lunches, head to the Boscastle Farm Shop. Port Isaac is home to the Michelin-starred Outlaw's New Road, along with Chapel Café and Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen. There are also some laid back beachy options in Polzeath, including Surfside and TJ’s Surf Café.
Activities for children
There are plenty of alternatives to family beach days nearby including the Camel Creek Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm World, perfect for letting the little ones burn off some steam in the indoor play area. For history enthusiasts, we’d recommend a fun and educational day trip to the mythical Tintagel Castle, which is less than ten minutes away by car. The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic nearby in Boscastle is a quirky option if you have an hour or two of downtime on a rainy day, promising a unique day out for the whole family.
Time for pampering
Just above Polzeath is the rustic-luxe Cowshed Spa at the St Moritz Hotel. The ultimate space to relax and unwind, opt for a quick beauty fix or an indulgent full or half day package. Whatever you desire, you'll be sure to leave feeling relaxed and refreshed after a well deserved moment of pampering. The St Enodoc Spa in Rock is a great alternative option for a holiday treat, with a range of restorative treatments on offer. From specialist massages to relaxing manicures and pedicures, there's something for everyone.

As magical as ever - once again our family holiday at The Yellow Cottage was memorable and very special. On arrival, the cottage was spotless and clean, and with the beach a stone's throw away and the South West Coast Path on the doorstep who could wish for more?
”Our stay at The Yellow Cottage, Trebarwith Strand, was excellent. We have stayed there many times and find the location for the sea and body boarding just the ticket. The Cottage is well fitted out and provides stunning views with footpaths leading right from the door step to the beach. It is perfect for two families together too.
”We enjoyed a wonderful week at Yellow Cottage, the standard of the house was excellent with everything we needed for a relaxing time watching the sea after the stunning views from a walk on the coastal path. Look forward to visiting again.
”Couldn't have asked for more. Helpful and clear communication in advance of the holiday. Property was spotless and looking forward to holidaying with Perfect Stays again.
”We stayed in The Yellow Cottage for a second time and the same very high standards of cleanliness and comfort were maintained from our first stay. We had a couple of maintenance problems that were dealt with swiftly and efficiently by very friendly but very professional work people. The Perfect Stays Team kept us in touch with what was happening and went over and above with their support and service. We would highly recommend Perfect Stays and The Yellow Cottage.
”The first impression we noticed when we walked in the door at The Yellow Cottage was wow - the property was super clean, spacious and airy with a fully equipped kitchen. The setting and location makes easy access to the beach and the garden provides a safe environment for children. Nothing was too much trouble for both Perfect Stays and also the management/cleaning company. Thank you to everyone for once again creating marvellous family memories at The Yellow Cottage - already booked again for next year!
”We had a wonderful week in The Yellow Cottage, it couldn't have been more perfect. It was such a treat to walk down the garden path and be strides away from the sands of Trebarwith Strand. Timed right, the beach offered such a beautiful long stretch to take our daily beach walk, other times the coastal path through the garden gate took us straight up onto the cliff tops.
Our whole group kept finding more things in the house each day that was loved! Such a well appointed house, everything has been thought of. We are a group of eight adults who stay in a large coastal house every year and this is one of the best, we can highly recommend it. This place definitely had the wow factor for us!
”The Yellow Cottage is a very special place. The warmth and decor of the house and its magnificent location are hard to top. The memories of a visit there will stay with us always. The hike up the coast path to Tintagel Castle is both beautiful and fascinating. The castle, its beach and caves, are otherworldly, and make you believe in the Arthurian legends. There is still much we want to explore in Cornwall, but know we'll be doing it from this house. Thanks for the outstanding management and professionalism Perfect Stays!
”Fantastic in summer, despite some very wet weather - the house is something special, as is Trebarwith Strand. The combination with Port William thrown in is unbeatable. Hope to come back again soon.
”I celebrated my 40th here and came back for my 50th - a lot has changed but it's still fabulous, like most of the friends that joined me! Here's to returning on my 60th!
”Wonderful property - had an awesome family Christmas here! Views are spectacular - for anyone visiting, we recommend you take a trip to Daymer Bay via Rock!
”We all had an amazing time at The Yellow Cottage. Thank you for helping us to create even more beautiful memories in this place.
”Because of Covid I had to transfer my 70th birthday celebrations with the family from this month, to January next year.
Lindsay at Perfect Stays was fantastic, she was calm, empathic but very professional. She contacted the owners of the cottage we had booked with, to ask them if this second transfer was at all possible. She kept me informed of all the steps that were taking place. I would like to thank Lindsay and the owners for their understanding.
I cannot praise Perfect Stays enough for setting my mind at rest and sorting out a very stressful situation. I would highly recommend Perfect Stays.
