Occupying a coveted position in the Higher Tristram area of Polzeath, Trelorna is a celebration of life’s simple pleasures: days spent surfing, uninterrupted time with loved ones, and an ice cold beer as the sun sets.
Whilst everything has been finished to the highest specification, there’s nothing ostentatious about Trelorna. Its bold style exudes a quiet confidence, both inside and out. The brainchild of award-winning architects Cassell Tarring, Trelorna’s exterior embodies thoughtful contemporary design; with intricate slate walls, delicate timber cladding and striking white render reflecting the colours of Cornwall’s Atlantic coastline.
The open plan living space sits at the top of the house, which allows for an elevated outlook across the bay. With high ceilings, modern roof lights and an expanse of bi-fold doors, this room feels incredibly close to the elements. It’s impossible to keep away from the sweeping sea views, so pull back the doors and embrace oceanside living – from mimosas on the balcony to shellfish suppers in the evening breeze. And if wild weather ensues, stoke the log burner and turn to the Smart TV for comfort.
With a spacious master suite on the top level and four additional bedrooms spread across the ground floor, there’s plenty of room to wind down after dark. Three of the bedrooms open onto a large balcony, with shelter and shade provided by the overhanging floor above. Dotted with lounge chairs and tables for two, it’s an idyllic spot for early morning coffees and keeping an eye on the tides.
The epitome of chilled seaside living, Trelorna’s lower ground floor provides the space and facilities to unwind, breathe deep and socialise with the people you love most. With a stylish games room, private bar and cleverly zoned garden, it’s the perfect antidote to Polzeath’s buzzing town centre. Whilst the children play pool and watch TV, oscillate between the cedar-clad hot tub, sun loungers and sunken fire pit seating.
Just a five minute walk from the sands of Polzeath, Trelorna was designed for the beach lovers amongst us. All practicalities are covered by the EV charger, outdoor shower, surfboard store and wetsuit drying room. Seasoned surfers will need little encouragement, but for the less experienced or keen, there are plenty of surf schools, equipment hire options and beachside cafés on offer.

Polzeath
Beaches and watersports
One of Cornwall’s best surfing beaches, Polzeath is perfectly suited to families, bodyboarders and first-time surfers. The local surf schools offer high quality lessons and equipment hire, and George’s Surf School is a brilliant option for one-to-one tuition. A string of iconic beaches can be found along the coast path, including Greenaway, Daymer Bay and Rock. If you’re looking for adventure, we’d recommend coasteering with Cornish Rock Tors and kayak trips with Harlyn Surf School.
Outdoor pursuits
This stretch of North Cornwall is heavenly for walkers, with lovely routes from Polzeath to Daymer Bay and on towards Rock. Catch the water taxi from Rock to Padstow and spend the day walking or cycling the wonderfully scenic Camel Trail – there are plenty of options for lunch along the way. If golf is your activity of choice, head to the St Enodoc Golf Club in Rock. Alternatively, Trevose Golf Club and Bowood Golf Club are about 35 minutes away.
Food and drink
Polzeath is home to a plethora of beachside cafés for a quick snack or ice cream. We’d recommend The Waterfront or Cracking Crab for something a bit more substantial or the range of restaurants and pubs in Rock, including The Mariners. Padstow is just across the estuary from Rock, with award-winning options like Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 for special occasions. If you love trying out local tipples, then a full or half day experience with Cornish Wine Tours is not to be missed.
Time for pampering
Just above Polzeath is the rustic-luxe Cowshed Spa at the St Moritz Hotel. The ultimate space to relax and unwind, opt for a quick beauty fix or an indulgent full or half day package. The Scarlet in Mawgan Porth is a great alternative option for holiday pampering, with a range of restorative treatments on offer. Using a range of organic and natural luxury skincare, you're sure to leave feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated.
Activities for children
There are plenty of alternatives to family beach days nearby, including the Camel Creek Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm World, where little ones can meet the animals before letting off some steam in the indoor play area. Younger children will relish rainy days spent at the charming Macdonald's Farm near Porthcothan. For history enthusiasts, we’d recommend a day trip to the mythical Tintagel Castle, which is about 35 minutes away by car.

Amazing from start to finish, wonderful property.
”Perfection. Hard to pick a fault with this property. Everything is covered and top spec. Great location with stunning views.
”My first impression of Trelorna when arriving was, "Wow, what a great position overlooking Polzeath Beach." The house had something for everyone: the hot tub for me, and the games room for the boys in the family. I loved getting up in the morning and sitting on the balcony, just soaking up the views and watching the bunnies which appeared every morning in the garden next door. The kitchen was well equipped for utensils, and the bedrooms were comfortable and had great showers.
Polzeath has many places to eat and drink, walks to enjoy, and of course the beach and water sports. We were very sad to leave. All communications with Perfect Stays were great - they are very helpful. They gave us a phone call at the beginning of the week to see how we were settling in, which was a nice touch.
”Wow, what can we say!? Trelorna is such a beautiful property that's not only stunning in decoration and location but completely kitted out in stylish and comfortable furniture - even the cutlery was beautiful. The views from most rooms are just stunning and the property looks even better in real life than in the photos! Fantastic location for those wishing to travel around Cornwall and is close to the village, beach, cafés, and restaurants too. The beach is just beautiful, with lots to explore from caves and rockpools to building sandcastles and bodyboarding. Some beautiful coastal walks to Rock and other villages and bays are also close by. The beach and the walks kept the four children entertained for hours and I'd highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area. The separate games room and lounge downstairs was fabulous as it gave the children a space of their own for the week. Comfortable beds, wonderful concierge service and stunning property. I'm very sure we'll be back again!
”It was so easy booking with Perfect Stays and the property was amazing! All my emails to Perfect Stays were answered so quickly too! They were able to help with where to go, restaurant recommendations and were knowledgeable about the equipment that they had in the kitchen at the property. They were also able to help with where to buy local produce nearby! We would not hesitate to stay again!
