New food pop-ups, supper clubs and restaurant openings happening in Cornwall this month

If there’s one thing we know our guests love when holidaying in Cornwall, it’s finding new places to eat. Now that the summer season is officially here, we thought it was only fair to let you in on the newest food-themed events happening across the county this month.
Greek nights promise a taste of the Mediterranean, pizza pop-ups will introduce you to bold and brilliant flavours, and you’ll leave sea-view supper clubs with a whole new appreciation for the food on the communal table. Here’s what September is serving up…
1. End of summer party at The Pig at Harlyn Bay
Saturday 9th September
For those looking for a unique al fresco dining experience, join The Pig at Harlyn Bay for one last soiree to celebrate the end of summer on the north coast of Cornwall. This impressive 15th century manor house serves as the backdrop to an evening full of Camel Valley fizz and fresh Cornish lobster, guaranteed to charm you into returning year after year.
Complete with blankets and outdoor heaters, savour the last of the lighter evenings from The Lobster Shed’s open-air dining terrace. Occupying a hidden spot in a secluded corner of the house grounds, admire far-reaching sea views of Harlyn Bay accompanied by live music from 4pm. Committed to packing its menu with local home grown produce, expect kitchen garden goodness served alongside classics from the grill, including rump steak, herb and chilli chicken and harissa dressed cauliflower.
For guests staying at Fox Point, this experience is the perfect way to round off a romantic getaway for two, with The Lobster Shed lying a 10 minute walk away.

2. Fire and Feast at Bedruthan Hotel
Thursday 14th September
Perched overlooking Mawgan Porth Beach, Bedruthan Hotel and Spa will play host to a series of al fresco dining experiences as autumn approaches. Priced at £55 per person, gather meat-loving friends and family for a cosy evening beside the campfire. Carefully curated to showcase some of the finest local produce, pair cured meats and cheeses with botanical wines, all served from the hotel’s garden room before sampling mouthwatering beef-led dishes. Listen out for the crackling of the fire as you navigate your way through the gardens to your spot at the communal table, with service starting at 7pm.
With elevated views of the bay below, this rustic setting is the perfect place to admire far-reaching vistas of rolling fields and neighbouring bays as the sun sets across the water.

3. Verdant Brewing Co takeover at Tate St Ives
Sunday 17th September
From lunchtime to sunset, Verdant Brewing Co will be taking over the Tate St Ives sunset bar, to bring locally sourced seafood dishes and Cornish craft beer to this iconic structure. Designed to showcase some of the freshest seafood in Cornwall, this unique menu has been thoughtfully tailored for the day and promises to be packed full of coastal flavours.
From 12pm until 3pm, scallops served alongside curry butter, loaded crab fries and chipotle fish tacos will be available, available for walk-ins looking to sample a mini a la carte menu. For the full dining experience, join from 6pm for a seven-course tasting menu, complete with wines and beers chosen according to each dish. Located on the rooftop bar, take in sweeping views of Porthmeor Beach as a selection of ambient tunes play late into the evening, a perfect setting for a memorable sundowner.

4. Healey's Cyder Farm Sunday roast
24th September - 31st March
As autumn approaches, the traditional roast dinner is making its triumphant return across the county, ready to warm up visitors to the coast. After a busy summer spent hosting festivals and live music events, Healey’s Cyder Farm will have you looking forward to chillier temperatures with their signature farm-style lunches.
Deep in the heart of the Cornish countryside, this family-owned cider farm and distillery is the largest in Cornwall, with plenty to offer visitors including tours of its vast orchards and an exclusive insight into the production process. After a day exploring the grounds, gather the family for Sunday roast in The Old Bottlery Restaurant, for farm reared meats paired with home grown vegetables. In true Healey’s style, pair award-winning cider with your meal for the ultimate rural dining experience.
The perfect day trip for guests at Trewhella in nearby Crantock, enjoy a scenic walk-through Healey’s gardens before dinner by the log fire in its charming barn conversion restaurant.

5. The Aussie Smoker feast series at Hotel Meudon
Friday 18th August
For those looking for a casual and communal dining experience without having to compromise on quality, look no further than Hotel Meudon’s feast series. This pop-up event, aiming to celebrate the culinary expertise of local chefs, is welcoming Adam Kesacoff aka The Aussie Smoker to Bream Cove for the night.
Arrive by 6:30pm and start the evening on the terrace that overlooks the gardens, before descending to the beach to indulge in a main course feast of barbeque delights, including Cornish oak smoked ribs and tahina-topped grilled aubergine. Each family recipe pairs classic Australian flavours with a variety of homemade rubs and marinades, making it an irresistible evening for vegetarians as well as meat- lovers.
Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for the beach in preparation for an evening dining on the water’s edge. For those looking to prolong the evening, head back to the hotel for cocktails at Freddie’s Bar.

6. Bottomless Brunch at The Fox's Revenge
Saturday 19th August
Returning for summer 2023, The Fox’s Revenge Smoke Shack is putting its own twist on the classic bottomless brunch to bring diners simple but tasty barbeque food cooked over the coals, including grilled halloumi, flat iron steak and buttermilk fried chicken.
Priced at £35 per person, choose a time that is available from 12pm and spend the next two hours sipping on boozy berry lemonade, Shack Spritzers or cool draught beer as live DJs spin funky house music, guaranteed to get you in the party mood. Non-alcoholic cocktails and soft drinks are also available, making it the perfect place to soak up the summer atmosphere for all.

7. Lobster Lunch at Padstow Kitchen Garden
Sunday 27th August
Following the success of their first supper club, Ross and the team at Padstow Kitchen Garden are lighting up the fire pit once again for an outdoor dining experience like no other.
Carefully curated to celebrate the area’s fishing heritage and field-to-fork philosophy, this four-course feast includes “crab som tam” and “whole lobster ”, all served alongside award- winning produce grown on site.
Located on the north coast of Cornwall, Trerethern Farm is sprawled across seven acres, boasting views of the Camel Valley, making it the perfect location to soak up views of the estuary that surrounds. For guests staying at Kilden Mor, this unique experience offers guests the opportunity to indulge in views of Rock and Daymer Bay from a different perspective.

8. Sabzi
Now open
The latest addition to Padstow’s celebrated food scene, with existing outlets in Falmouth and Truro, Sabzi’s ever-changing menu will have you coming back for more. Designed to showcase how exciting takeaway food can be each dish draws inspiration from Iranian and Middle Eastern cooking to create a range of unique original recipes. Open from the 1st of August, this deli occupies a prime location on Duke Street in the heart of the town.
Home to beautiful beaches and trail walks, there are plenty of spots across Padstow to roll out your blanket and enjoy far-reaching sea views. Pair Indian-inspired slaw and Cajun spiced roasted potatoes with a Tarquin’s gin and tonic for the perfect takeaway picnic on Tregirls Beach, or for those staying at Harbour Walk, take full advantage of this cosy retreat’s open plan kitchen and spend an evening curled up in front of the log burner with a glass of red wine.
9. August Food Lineup at Bluntrock Brewery
Friday and Saturday evenings throughout August
Located on the north coast of Cornwall, just a short distance from Rock Beach, this series of converted shipping containers will play host to a variety of food venders throughout August. In keeping with their diverse and creative approach to brewing, Bluntrock have carefully curated a schedule that showcases a vast selection of talented local businesses.
This laid back, al fresco dining experience has been designed for everyone to enjoy, including dogs. With regular performances from local bands and DJs, indulge in fresh sourdough pizzas from Sourdoughlicious, Molinos posh kebabs and locally sourced crab rolls from Got Crabs. As a bonus, just ask for pairing recommendations at the converted Taproom, home to high-quality small batch beers that are brewed on site. No need to book, simply check Bluntrock’s social media and website to find out what’s on offer that evening.

10.Tide and Thyme
Coffee and cakes from 8am - 4pm and pizza from 5pm - 9pm
Perched overlooking Portscatho Beach in the east of Cornwall, the team at Tide and Thyme are here for your coffee fix from 8am every day. Indulge in freshly baked pastries including filled croissants and triple chocolate brownies by day, before returning for an evening of sunset watching and stone baked pizzas. Boasting views of the bay below, Tide and Thyme’s outdoor elevated seating area makes for an extra special al fresco dining experience.

11. Beach hut dining with Emily Scott and Fortnum & Mason
Throughout August
Award -winning chef Emily Scott and iconic retailers Fortnum and Mason have come together to bring an extra slice of joy to the Cornish coastline this summer. Nestled in the cliff face at Watergate Bay, each beach hut has been designed exclusively by Fortnum’s, and comes complete with stylish handpicked homeware, including cushions, rugs and tableware to create a truly unique picnic experience.
Drawing inspiration from summers spent on the British coast, each hamper has been expertly designed to combine independent Cornish suppliers with the store’s famous picnic range, including strawberry and champagne jam and clotted cream biscuits.
For a lighter option, the “Seaside Picnic” containing smoked Cornish trout, crab sandwiches and lemon posset make for the perfect afternoon lunch for two. For those wanting to catch the sunset, the seaside feast has the additional offering of a half lobster, along with soft serve ice cream, made using Fortnum and Mason’s iconic grapefruit curd.

July's food events...
1. Hidden Hut feast night at Porthcurnick Beach
6th, 18th and 23rd July
Tickets for this iconic beachside supper went on sale on 1st July and we know they’ll sell out fast. For those not in the know, The Hidden Hut occupies a gorgeous spot by the sea, just above Porthcurnick Beach near Portscatho. Feast nights here are sociable and casual affairs where guests bring their own plates and tipples, with food served at 7:30pm on long trestle tables, all al fresco.
July’s menus include lobster on the 6th, a summer vegetable grill on the 18th, and a Roseland lamb special on the 23rd. Vegetarians are always catered for, even on meat and fish-based nights, with everything made fresh from Cornwall’s finest ingredients across land and sea.
Feast nights are dog-friendly and the beach welcomes dogs year-round – perfect for a pre-supper stomp. Find more details for each event here and book early to avoid missing out.
2. Greek Nights at Bread and Butter, Truro
7th, 14th, 21st and 28th July
Recently extended until the end of July thanks to their sell-out success last month, Charlie and the team behind Bread and Butter are whisking us away to Greece this summer. From their courtyard café on River Street in Truro, look forward to Friday evenings spent with good friends and even better food.
Sip homemade cloudy lemonade with ouzo, feast on moussaka, politiki slaw and feta-filled pastries, and indulge your sweet tooth with syrupy baklava which promises to steal the show.

3. Midsummer Farm Dinner at Nancarrow Farm
Friday 14th July
Tickets for Nancarrow’s traditional courtyard feast may be sold out this month, but their five-course Midsummer Farm Dinner promises to be just as special.
With its farm-to-fork philosophy and idyllic rural location not far from Truro, Nancarrow Farm is loved for its al fresco suppers. With a similar style to The Hidden Hut, but swapping coast for country, the five-course feast on 14th July invites guests to gather around long communal tables and dine into the night.
After a glass of elderflower champagne on arrival, settle into Oak Barn where a sumptuous menu awaits. Think Porthilly oysters, chunky sourdough bread with whipped smoked butter, octopus carpaccio, egg raviolo and aged fillet of beef. 4. Harbour House in Flushing
Opening Saturday 15th July
A brand new pub by the name of Harbour House will open its doors for the first time in two weeks. Just across the water from Falmouth, you’ll find it in Flushing on the south coast.
Formerly part of the restaurant team at New Yard on the Trelowarren Estate (more details on that below), it’s headed up by chef Jeffrey Robinson. An award-winning Cornish local with a passion for stunning dishes, his menus promise fresh flavours in every bite.
After a year of refurbishment, the pub will open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on 15th July. Sample menus feature monkfish, beef ragu, whole lobster and deep-fried chocolate fondant. It even has its own bakery, so morning croissants and freshly brewed coffee are a must after a walk along the harbourfront.
The perfect day trip for guests at Cornerways in nearby St Mawes, enjoy a scenic river cruise between Falmouth and Flushing before sitting down to lunch. With views over the water from its elevated vantage point, find yourself in a prime position for exploring the Roseland Peninsula.

5. HarbourQ at Charlestown Harbour
Saturday 15th July
Longstore-lovers: listen up. Sister to the iconic steak and seafood restaurant in Charlestown (and now Truro), HarbourQ are hosting a pop-up. On Saturday 15th July, head to Charlestown Harbour for slow smoked beef, sticky chili chicken, tacos, flatbreads and more. Famous for their barbeque style dishes and frozen margarita cocktails, tables are outdoors with scenic views over the water.
Alongside HarbourQ, a pizza pop-up from Dough Boys promises Amalfi Coast-meets-Kernow cuisine. Think garlic prawns, wood-fired pizza, Venetian spritz and punchy affogato. Find them on the deck at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum and enjoy a slice or two in the sun.
Throughout the day there’ll be music from Jumping Out Jazz, and the laid back atmosphere means there’s no need to book – simply turn up on the day.
A 20 minute drive away in Fowey, find your own little portion of paradise with a stay at Daymarker. Home to an outdoor pool and azure ocean views from the balcony, it’s a place to truly switch off.
6. Supper Club at Chapel House, Penzance
15th and 29th July
Two events in July make Chapel House in Penzance well worth a visit. Down on Cornwall’s west coast, you can book your seat at the table on Saturday 15th or Saturday 19th July. The evening includes drinks in the drawing room from 6:30pm, before the shared feast is served from 7:30pm.
Part of a summer series with limited dates running until 2nd September, food is £30 per person and typically includes three indulgent courses. Start with boards of Chapel House breads and bowls of wild leaf salads, before Cornish seafood tortes, spring vegetable pies and rhubarb crumble with clotted cream land on the table (if May’s sample menu is anything to go by).
July’s dishes are yet to be confirmed – we recommend checking in here nearer the time. For the event itself, head to Chapel Street, TR18 4AQ.
7. The Mariners Beach Club in Rock
22nd and 23rd July
Described by Team Ainsworth as a series of tidal pop-ups, this beachside barbeque is perfect for impromptu plans while in Rock. No tickets are required and food is cooked over coals in an open fire kitchen – simply turn up and tuck in.
Over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd July, the restaurant’s chefs will be serving seasonal dishes like curries and loaded burgers, with drinks available to sip on the sand. Find the event on Rock Beach slipway, between the lifeboat station and Camel Ski School. Start times are based on the tides and weather – keep an eye out on the Beach Club’s website and social media for more.

8. Saffron Huns in Gweek
Fridays through July
An up-and-coming food truck travelling the Cornish coast and serving mezze pop-ups along the way – we think Saffron Huns are going to go far.
Having just showcased a Brazilian brunch at Falmouth Food Festival in May, Hazel and Het are usually based in Gweek, where they cook up ‘feasts for one’ every Friday. Food is served from 5 – 8pm and desserts and drinks are available to buy from Gweek Village Stores. June’s evening menu saw marinated halloumi, herby pork souvlaki, salads and focaccia served through the hatch.
A hop, skip and a jump away in Porthleven, our properties Seathrift and The Old School House await. Ready for sea-view lunching and dips in the pool, Seathrift sleeps up to 11 guests, with brand new photography now live.

9. Chicken Night at St Kew Farm Shop
Fridays through July
For laid back dining after days in North Cornwall, families will love coming together for “Chicken Nights” at St Kew Farm Shop. Every Friday, gates open from 5:30pm for drinks from the fully licensed bar, and food is served between 6pm and 8pm.
Everything’s al fresco unless you’d prefer to take away, with the menu featuring a mixture of shrimp and vegan dishes, alongside the signature buttermilk chicken served with barbeque beans, spiced wedges, jalapeno cornbread and slaw.
Just opened this week, St Kew’s brand new shop, The Greenhouse, sits at the edge of their tree-lined garden. It’s filled with leafy houseplants, artsy greetings cards and beautiful homewares. Opening night is Wednesday 5th July, when fizz will be popped to celebrate the launch. Take a first look on their Instagram.

10. Midsummer Pizza Parties at Flora Café, Helston
Saturdays through July
Join the Flora team for pizza night in the courtyard from 6 – 9pm each Saturday. Part of the Trelowarren Estate, Flora Cafe has replaced the New Yard restaurant in West Cornwall.
Menu details are still to come for July’s events, but if Flora’s social pages are anything to go by, Friday events could be on the horizon too. June’s chalkboard included specials like the nduja, chard and mozzarella, the courgette, lemon and chilli, as well as a classic margarita.
A selection of summer wines will be served by the glass and carafe, and those with room for dessert can choose between the likes of fig leaf panna cotta with strawberries and vermouth, or rhubarb and Campari granita.

11. The Cornish Italian on the Roseland Peninsula
Evenings through July
The Cornish Italian food truck has been keeping busy on the Roseland Peninsula, with chef Ugo at the wheel. Find the van parked up at their Chenoweth Business Park HQ from Wednesday to Saturday, 5 – 8pm, or for a Tuesday treat, visit the ‘Trattoria on Wheels’ in Carnon Downs at the same time.
Recent summer menus have included fresh pasta dishes like bucatini alla carbonara with pancetta, and ‘tiramisUGO’ desserts, with Cornish rum and chocolate flavours. Allergies are always catered for and there’s no need to book – simply visit The Cornish Italian website or follow the van on Instagram to find out where it’s headed.

12. Barnaby’s at Trevibban Mill, Padstow
Until September
For those seeking a unique culinary adventure in Cornwall, Barnaby's at Trevibban Mill is an absolute must-visit. Running until September, the pop-up restaurant sees two of Cornwall’s best foodies join forces just outside of Padstow. The vineyard is dog-friendly and open Tuesday to Saturday, with bookings now being made via their website.
Food-wise, expect signature Barnaby’s sharing plates – our favourites are the scallops with pistachio butter and the hake with artichoke hummus and hispi cabbage.
And when it comes to wine, the knowledgeable staff at Trevibban Mill are always on hand to offer expert pairings, whether you opt for a glass of their Pinot Noir Pink Sparkling over lunch, or become tempted by cocktails. We like the sound of spicy margaritas and lemon and raspberry martinis to celebrate with friends.

13. Lobster Fridays at The Beach Hut, Watergate Bay
Until September
Naturally, this one’s for the seafood-lovers. With Watergate Bay providing a turquoise backdrop for Friday lunchtimes, diners can look forward to half a lobster drizzled with parsley butter and fries, freshly caught from Newquay Harbour.
Running weekly from now until September, this event is priced at £42 per person and booking is available online through The Beach Hut’s website.

14. Afternoon tea at The Orangery, Lostwithiel
Now open
A gorgeous North Cornwall find that’s tucked away in the Lostwithiel countryside, Duchy Nursery is back and better than ever. Now welcoming guests to its brand new Orangery restaurant, book here for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
Food favourites from the Perfect Stays team include: "The Garden" breakfast, the avocado wake-up with poached eggs and Sriracha, and the chicken Caesar salad. Each one is fresh, beautifully plated and best enjoyed from the breezy atrium with the doors swung open.
The nursery site is open from 9am every day of the week, so browsing the unique collection of treasures in the now-twice-the-size shop is a must. It stocks everything from artisan gin and St Eval Candles to children’s toys, coffee table books and William Morris dog accessories.
Another new addition, the Woodland Terrace tipi is the place to go for takeaway drinks and sweet treats before a wander through the lavender-scented gardens, or for casual tea and cake, see a café host.

15. Restaurant RenMor, Newquay
Now open
With a main menu comprising barbequed north coast lobster and toasted pumpkin seed dumplings, RenMor is a brand new restaurant that’s already made quite the impact. Expect vibrant dishes, creative cocktails and tempting snacks that champion Cornwall’s best ingredients.
Part of the Headland Hotel in Newquay, pair a reservation with a pre-supper walk along Fistral Beach, before admiring it from your table. Their live availability calendar shows good availability through July – stay up-to-date on the RenMor website.
