- Sea views
- Private annexe
- Electric car charger
- Outdoor resistance pool
- Covered terrace for al fresco dining
- Short walk to the beach
Set on the idyllic Rame Peninsula, this architecturally striking beach house promises peaceful getaways in South Cornwall. Its elevated position means glimmering sea views throughout, whether you’re lounging beside the pool, waking up in the private annexe, or clinking glasses on the terrace.
Waiting outside the gorgeous master bedroom, a sunken resistance pool (April - October) gives couples and groups of friends an inviting space to relax. Slip out of luxurious linens, slide open the glass doors and take a moment to cherish the sound of the ocean. Each of the three en-suite bedrooms enjoy azure views as far as the eye can see, while unique interiors by Cornish design team Mint House create an opulent beach house feel.
Upstairs, discover a sea-view haven to cook and dine. The open plan kitchen and living area is hugged by the wraparound terrace with direct access through vast glass doors, so it’s easy to step out for an aperitif before supper. At Christmas time, catch up with loved ones by the wood burner, where the velvet sofa and Smart TV transform the space from a seaside oasis to a tempting winter retreat. Just off the living area, you’ll find an additional snug that’s perfect for quieter afternoons.
With two neighbouring bedrooms in the main house and the third tucked away in its own private suite, Eden lends itself to a handful of group dynamics. Bedroom three has its own bathroom and bijoux kitchen, making it a real sanctuary for two. The sociable balcony, outdoor sofa and dining table are just outside, and with a sloping suntrap lawn beneath, it's only footsteps from the action.
With gently lapping tides and a long pebble beach, Downderry is one of South Cornwall’s hidden gems. Local pubs like The Conch and Inn on the Shore provide delicious dishes within walking distance of the house, while an array of breath-taking coastal walks, beachside cafés and ice cream shops await on the doorstep. Slightly further afield, you'll find picturesque harbours and pebbled shores at Kingsand and Cawsand, promising a snapshot of Cornwall's fishing history only 25 minutes away by car.

Master Bedroom with En-suite
Direct access onto the pool area outside makes the master bedroom a real holiday haven. Slide open the glass doors and sink into the water while planning the day’s adventures.
The super king zip and link bed is framed by an upholstered velvet headboard and calming coastal artwork, while soft linen curtains slide open to reveal spectacular sea views across the bay.
Generous in size, the en-suite bathroom is finished in cool grey tile from floor to ceiling. A double waterfall shower takes centre stage, with matte black accents throughout.
WC and Utility Cupboard
Completing the ground floor, you’ll find a WC with a toilet and sink located between the two bedrooms. Just opposite, there's also a handy utility cupboard that houses an LG washer dryer.
Bedroom Two with En-suite
A striking feature wall, suspended leather headboard and soft boucle accents come together to make this space feel truly luxurious. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors welcome sea views and flood the room with natural daylight, best enjoyed from the super king zip and link bed.
Low hanging pendant lights and a built-in dressing table nook make bedroom two a relaxing space to retreat to each evening, as the sun falls low in the sky.
Meanwhile, the sleek monochrome en-suite features a large bath and waterfall shower, as well as access onto the poolside terrace. Be in a cloud of post-swim bubbles within seconds.
Please note that while these bedrooms are located on the ground floor, there are approximately 10 steps from the driveway to the terrace, and a further 10 to the annex and ground floor bedrooms.

Living Area
Home to magical views over South Cornwall, the open plan living and dining area is where guests will naturally come together after days on the coast. Once the vast glass doors have been pulled shut and the sunset admired with a drink in hand, a blue l-shaped sofa and striking white wood burner transform the space into a cosy nighttime retreat.
When you've had your fill of competitive board games around the large wooden dining table, there’s also a Smart TV with Sky Cinema and Netflix, plus SONOS speakers for family film nights.
Snug
Hidden behind sliding doors, the snug is home to a second Smart TV (also enjoying Netflix and Sky Cinema) and an Xbox Series S. A calm and quiet setting for playing games or catching up with emails, there’s a soft suede sofa and the room is finished in rich teal tones.
When it’s time for some fresh air, swing open the door and welcome a coastal breeze from a smaller terrace at the side of the house.
Kitchen
Home to Eden’s signature sea views, the kitchen is light, bright and contemporary. Complete with a Siemens oven, induction hob and dishwasher, it’s a lovely setting to prepare dinner while keeping an eye on the ocean tides.
Coffee lovers will put the Nespresso machine to good use each morning, while a Dualit kettle and toaster take care of breakfast. Pull up a gold bar stool at the kitchen island, or take pastries and fresh fruit out onto the terrace - there’s easy access either side thanks to the room’s open plan design and a handy stable door.
Please note that guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob as this can interfere with the device.
More about theAnnexe
Bedroom Three
Set just across the terrace and outdoor dining area, the annexe provides an additional double bedroom with an en-suite and kitchenette. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the whole space with natural light, while tranquil views over the garden and sea beyond provide a peaceful backdrop.
Finished in deep blue and cream, bedroom three feels instantly welcoming. On warmer days, open the sliding doors for easy access onto the terrace and garden, before retreating to the double bed each night.
Please note that while this bedroom is located on the ground floor, there are approximately 10 steps from the driveway to the terrace, and a further 10 to the annexe.
Kitchenette
As well as a sink, an under-the-counter fridge and generous storage, a second small but perfectly formed kitchen means you can prepare lazy breakfasts to enjoy on the terrace. The annexe has its own Dualit toaster and kettle, plus a Nespesso coffee machine - perfect for the first caffeine hit of the day.
Bathroom
Meanwhile, the en-suite bathroom is finished in sleek white tiles and terracotta accents, with a walk-in waterfall shower. There’s also generous shelving which provides space for holiday toiletries.
More about theExterior
Terrace
Located on the first floor and accessed via the kitchen, the outdoor terrace is perfect for al fresco entertaining. A large concrete dining table seats six guests and enjoys blue sky views that meet the ocean.
There’s an outdoor sofa for lounging with a glass of wine each evening, and pendant lighting means the space can be transformed from a light lunch spot to an ambient supper setting with ease.
Resistance Pool
Sunken into the lawn just outside the master bedroom, the sea-view resistance pool awaits. A sure way to liven up the morning routine, couples and fitness fanatics will enjoy luxuriating as the ocean glimmers in the distance. Heated from April to October, the pool measures 4 x 2.63 metres.
Garden
Enjoying the same sea views, a sloping green lawn provides a quiet setting for an afternoon’s sunbathing. Easily accessed via steps from the main house and the annex, there’s also an outdoor shower ready and waiting beside the pool.
Parking
There’s private parking* for one car on the driveway at the front of the house, as well as an electric car charger. If you’re bringing a second car, additional parking can be found in the car park opposite Bewshea's restaurant (we recommend dropping any luggage off at the house first) or on the residential road at nearby West Camps Bay.
*The driveway is very steep, so we recommend reversing up and then turning into the parking space.

Downderry
Beaches and watersports
South East Cornwall is sprinkled with pretty beaches and coves. Great for families, Downderry Beach is a mix of sand and shingle, and the sheltered Seaton Beach is just a five minute stroll away. Tregantle Beach and the numerous sandy coves at Whitsand Bay are less than 15 minutes away by car. Great for surfing and bodyboarding, we’d recommend lessons for beginners at Whitsand Bay as there are some rip currents. The ever popular Looe Beach and Talland Bay are also a short drive to the west.
Activities for children
If the weather takes a turn, the Monkey Sanctuary in Looe makes a great family day out. Home to a range of species, the income from visitors goes towards protecting monkeys across the globe. Just across the border in Plymouth, there’s a whole host of activities for children, including the National Marine Aquarium, the Pavilions Ice Skating Rink and a large Vue cinema complex. Adrenalin Quarry near Liskeard is a must for thrill-seekers, with a 490m zip wire, giant swing and inflatable aqua park.
Outdoor pursuits
Follow the South West Coast Path towards Rame Head and you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views across Plymouth Sound to the east and The Lizard to the west. The route from Downderry to Seaton and out towards Looe, Polperro and Polruan is also recommended, as is the inland walk through the woods to Hissenford. If you enjoy cycling, drive to Bodmin or Wadebridge and embark on the scenic Camel Trail to Padstow. Golfers are also well catered for with the Looe and Whitsand Bay golf courses nearby, and St Mellion just 13 miles away.
Food and drink
Set in the heart of Downderry, Bewshea's is a laid back tapas bar and a great setting for lunch, cocktails or an evening meal. There are a handful of cafés and pubs in nearby Seaton and you’ll find incredibly fresh seafood at The Sardine Factory in Looe. For delicious casual dining, we’d suggest a trip to The Beach House in Seaton which is just five minutes from Downderry. There are a whole host of high quality restaurants and bars in Plymouth, while Camel Valley and Knightor vineyards are also within an hour’s drive.
Time for pampering
For a truly immersive pampering experience, treat yourself to a day of relaxation at the Gaia Spa at Boringdon Hall in Plymouth. With 12 different treatment rooms, a stunning pool and patio hot tubs, the holistic experiences bring together the elements of earth, fire, water and air. If you don’t mind a 45 minute drive, the charming Fowey Hall Hotel Spa has incredible views over the harbour, a hot tub and an indoor pool. Many of the spa day packages come with a wonderfully indulgent afternoon tea, the perfect way to finish the day.
