Nestled above Carlyon Bay’s azure waters and within walking distance of the historic port of Charlestown, Serenity is an exquisite oceanside retreat. True to its name, it embodies the feeling of escapism with its never-ending sea views and elegant interiors. Located on the coveted Sea Road on Cornwall’s south coast, this home provides an idyllic base for golfers, beach-goers and walkers.
Sleeping five guests across three ground floor bedrooms, this home is well-suited to small families and couples with Luxurious Magazine naming it the "best for switching off". Contemporary, fresh and modern, every room has been finished in calming coastal hues with plenty of whites and blues complementing its endless sparkling views. The open plan kitchen, dining and living area is bathed in natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and every room enjoys views over the bay.
For those in pursuit of tranquillity, the mezzanine living area enjoys a beautiful ocean-view backdrop. Complete with a sofa and coffee table, it’s a space destined for evening reading, morning meditation or simply soaking up the scenery.
Stepping outside, Serenity’s terrace is lined with agapanthus blooms and luscious palms. Offering an incredible vantage point over the sea, this private oasis provides a natural setting for al fresco dining and early evening drinks with an outdoor dining table and loungers. What's more, it also serves as a space for morning yoga sessions with the sound of the waves providing the perfect soundtrack. As the sun begins to lower itself over the horizon, prepare supper on the Ninja electric barbeque and serve icy drinks with loved ones gathered around.
With the South West Coast Path weaving its way through Carlyon Bay, join from your doorstep and follow it over to Charlestown in one direction or Polkerris in the other. Wrapped up in maritime history, Charlestown is known for its impressive tall ships and hidden harbourside restaurants. Enjoy crab sandwiches as the waves roll into pebbled shores or opt for a sublime 'surf and turf’ supper at The Longstore. Nearby, you’ll also find Carlyon Bay’s spa, restaurants and golf course, while the botanical gardens of the Eden Project, Pinetum and Treglyn are all within a 10 minute drive – you’ll never be short of things to do.
Serenity is brand new to our portfolio – additional photography and our professional video, plus interactive floorplans, are coming soon.

Carlyon Bay
Heritage and culture
Once home to a 2,260-seat concert venue, Carlyon Bay has always been synonymous with music and entertainment. During the summer months, enjoy live performances from local bands at the beach's Shoreside Bar every Friday and Saturday night. Alternatively, head to popular attraction The Eden Project for a spectacular series of summer music concerts hosting the likes of Elton John and Kylie Minogue. Located in a reclaimed China clay pit, this impressive attraction is certainly worth a visit. Home to an outdoor adventure playground, the world’s largest indoor rainforest and vast outdoor gardens, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Evoking scenes from Georgian Cornwall, Charlestown's Grade II harbour is also close by, with its ever-present tall ships and historic shipwreck museum.
Time for pampering
Surrounded by 250 acres of clifftop countryside, unwind at The Carlyon Bay Hotel Spa. Enjoy views over St Austell Bay from the comfort of a heated stone lounger as you choose from a variety of treatments including deep tissue massage, body wraps and facials. For the ultimate day of comfort and indulgence, retreat to The Cornwall Hotel and Spa for traditional afternoon tea on the terrace after a day spent in the infinity pool. Or, head to the neighbouring town of Fowey for a midweek wake-up and pamper treatment. For two hours, make use of Fowey Hall’s facilities before enjoying a salt and oil scrub or ishga facial.
Outdoor pursuits
For those wanting to explore the great outdoors, join the South West Coast Path from your doorstep. Depending on the route you take, you can reach Charlestown, Porthpean, Polkerris and even Fowey - each with their own sunkissed sands, shoreline restaurants and wildlife-watching hot spots. The beautiful botanical gardens of Pinetum, Treglyn and Heligan also await nearby for those wishing to reconnect with nature. Meanwhile, Carlyon Bay itself is home to a championship golf course where views over the bay make it one of the country's most-loved greens.
Food and drink
If you’re looking for something close to home, head to the shores of Carlyon Bay where a delicious mix of local independent food vendors open their doors in the summer months. Including French bistro cuisine from The Mussel Shoal and freshly rolled pizzas from Jasper’s Kitchen, supper on the sand never tasted better. With Charlestown just a short walk away too, The Longstore’s speciality steak and seafood menus are not to be missed, while their daytime deli makes a perfect stop for brunch. For something a little more laid back, head to Springtide for fresh pasta dishes and views over the harbour or make a Sunday lunch reservation at Rebellion's Roast House.
Beaches and watersports
With Carlyon Bay on your doorstep, expect to be spoilt for choice when it comes to beach activities. Jet ski safaris, stand-up paddle boarding and kayak hire are available throughout the summer from Cornwall Waverunner Safaris, giving visitors the opportunity to discover secluded beaches and remote coves. For those looking to remain on dry land, relax to the sound of the ocean with a beach yoga session provided by Elm Yoga.
