The distance from Seastar to Porthcothan Beach is best measured in footsteps; find yourself on the sand within 30 seconds of closing the front door. Finished in coastal blues and gentle pinks, the interiors feel laid back and welcoming. For those eager to escape the busy city or bustle of everyday life, a stay at Seastar promises easy-going mornings, al fresco lunches and sunset ocean dips.
Sleeping up to 10 guests across five bedrooms, Seastar is spread over three floors. The open plan kitchen, dining and living area make up the stunning first floor living space with wooden floors, beach prints and sisal accents throughout. In the winter months, curl up next to the wood burner and watch the waves in the distance or retreat to the spa-like steam room and bubbling hot tub for a dose of holiday pampering.
Outside, lavenders, grasses and wildflowers line the sun-drenched garden. Listen to the bustle of beachgoers as you gather around the large wooden dining table, or lounge on the lawn with a novel come afternoon. What’s more, an outdoor shower makes a welcome addition after days on the beach. Rinse off salty wetsuits and sandy paws, before preparing a seafood supper on the charcoal barbeque.
There’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained during a stay, whether you’re holidaying with little ones or have older children in tow. Tucked away behind the kitchen, a cosy snug sits beneath sloping ceilings and skylights, complete with an Xbox Series X and table football. A dedicated games room provides hours of entertainment, with table tennis and a dartboard ready for family tournaments.
Nestled amongst the paradisal Seven Bays, join the South West Coast Path and head over the clifftops to Treyarnon and Constantine Bay. Or, spend days on dog-friendly Porthcothan Beach playing games and bodyboarding in the shallows. Come evening, venture a little further afield and book a table at one of Padstow’s prestigious seafood restaurants before returning home via Rafferty’s Wine Bar in St Merryn.

”It's our annual tradition to holiday in Cornwall in December, we all love it! Seastar was a fabulous property, it's so close to the beach and the hot tub was a wonderful addition as well the added bonus of being dog-friendly. The house feels deceptively huge and it's very well-equipped. Porthcothan is a great location to visit as well as nearby Padstow and Port Issac too. All in all, fabulous, we're very happy returning guests.
”Our second time at Seastar, thanks Perfect Stays - excellent service and always very helpful, we had the perfect holiday.
”We have just had a brilliant half term holiday at Seastar in Porthcothan. It was the perfect place for three generations to celebrate my 70th birthday. It's a beautiful house, located close to the beach and the coastal path. Perfect Stays made the whole process straightforward and stress free, and the Home Management Group responded rapidly to our request for rinse aid and dishwasher salt! Such a good time was had by all that we have booked May half term in 2024!
”Fantastic location, the beach was great and just a few steps away. The coffee shop was handy too. The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy. Great customer service - we will be using this company again.
