From the outside, The Hideout blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, with its grass-covered roof, natural brickwork and glass-edged terrace. In stark contrast, the bold and playful interiors are guaranteed to surprise and delight.
Overlooking luscious headlands and golden sands, bring everyone together in the pastel-hued living space, with a huge corner sofa and log burner. A stylish setting for moments of calm, prepare summer cocktails and sharing platters in the kitchen before retreating outside for lazy afternoons in the sun.
Tucked away at basement level is The Hideout’s best secret: an incredibly sleek games room and cinema. Akin to a metropolitan hangout, the neon lights, exposed bricks, drinks fridge and pool table create an oh-so-cool setting for hours of entertainment.
The quirky design continues into the four bedrooms, which sleep up to eight guests. With ocean views from the bed and hanging chair, the master bedroom features a king sized bed, polished concrete floors, an industrial-style en-suite and a ‘hidden’ bath tub. Another perfectly formed double room and family bathroom are just next door. And a pretty king sized bedroom and en-suite can be found at the top of a small flight of stairs, this room also has a raised sleeping area for one person. Children will delight in the adventurous fourth bedroom, which features a climbing wall and indoor slide above the zip and link bed, as well as another en-suite.
Encircled by a sea-view terrace and grassy roof garden, enjoy tranquil evenings in the cedar hot tub once the children are in bed. Dog friendly and not far from Mawgan Porth’s beach, shops, cafés and spas, The Hideout makes a stylish base for exploring North Cornwall.

Games Room
Featuring bold splashes of orange and teal, the games room is a fun and sociable space, ideal for families to come together. Children will love curling up in the unique circle seat tucked into the wall, while the rest of the group enjoy a game of pool. Chill drinks in the convenient mini fridge or ask Alexa to provide the soundtrack for the evening. Warm, urban interiors tie the space together, with a trio of pendent lights and Scandi style bar stools bringing an industrial edge.
Cinema Room
Perfect for group movie marathons, the cinema room sits next door to the games room. A dark and moody space complete with a full HD WiFi-enabled projector, browse the latest films on Netflix, catch up with BBC Sport or play videos through YouTube and PlayStation Video. While a comfy three seater sofa provides respite for grown-ups, little ones may be more tempted to sink into a Lazy Boy beanbag with popcorn in hand.
More about theGround Floor
Lounge
Wonderfully spacious and ideal for group gatherings, the lounge is encased in glass – making it light and bright on sunny days. A light grey sofa (recently updated) sits at the centre of the room with a plush neutral rug underfoot, while the Sony Smart TV enjoys Netflix and Sky. Warm achy limbs in front of the wood burner after long days trampling the coast path or pull up an armchair to watch the waves roll in on the beach below. Looking out across the garden, a circular dining table invites breakfast all together, while the SONOS speaker starts off the day with morning radio.
Kitchen
With striking wooden panelling overhead and marbled cream tiles underfoot, the open plan kitchen is an inviting space to prepare family meals. Home chefs will love getting acquainted with the Rangemaster cooker, while the American-style Bosch fridge freezer and additional larder fridge provide plenty of room for groceries. Soft pink cabinets house an abundance of storage space on the modern central island, which features a Bosch dishwasher and wine cooler. As music plays from the Sonos speaker, whip up flask-ready lunchtime coffees with the Nespresso Magimix machine before heading down to the beach.
Master Bedroom
A haven of interior design, the spacious master bedroom is a private king size room tucked away at the back of the property. With expansive bi-fold doors making for easy returns from the hot tub just outside, the room looks out onto the garden. A striking pebbled headboard and Aztec inspired soft furnishings fill the room with colour and texture. Take a moment to yourself in the relaxing hanging chair or wake up slowly and watch the Sony Smart TV. A walk-in dressing room provides more than enough space for unpacking holiday suitcases, while the enormous wet room sits next door.
Tiled from floor to ceiling in striking geometric pattern, the open plan bathroom comprises a large walk-in shower, double sinks and a WC, cleverly concealed through a frosted swing door. Finished in striking textured concrete and with views across the garden, the huge sunken bath invites evenings submerged in bubbles.
Bedroom Two
With views across the courtyard garden, bedroom two is a calming double room with a beachy and laid back feel. A large wardrobe with sliding doors provides plenty of hanging space, while deep blue ombre soft furnishings pay homage to the sea beyond the window.
Bedroom Three
A unique and versatile space tucked away on the first floor, bedroom three comprises a king size bed with the added extra of a raised sleeping area for one person. While rattan furniture and bohemian inspired furnishings create a calm and cosy hideaway, the en-suite bathroom is finished in chic grey tones. There’s a walk-in shower with waterfall head, as well as a magnificent freestanding sink and striking pebbled flooring underfoot.
Bedroom Four
Sure to be a hit with the children, this playful room encourages fun to no end. While a versatile zip and link bed sits at the heart of the room and provides the option for two singles, the real piece de resistance is the wooden slide and climbing frame on either side. Children can burn off energy before bedtime or take it easy in the novel shark-themed armchair. The en-suite bathroom is elegantly tiled in white and blue, complete with a vintage-style walk-in shower.
Family Bathroom
Finished in bold metallic tiles, the family bathroom features a walk-in shower with waterfall head.
Utility
Conveniently located next door to the kitchen, the utility room houses a Bosch microwave, plus a Bosch washing machine and tumble drier. There’s also plenty of space to store beach equipment.
More about theExterior
Garden
An elevated roof garden looks out across rolling green hills and crashing waves. Perfect for an afternoon’s sunbathing, there’s plenty of space for families or groups of friends to spread out in and savour the view. In the lower courtyard area, you’ll find an outdoor dining table and a barbeque for al fresco feasting, as well as a handy outdoor shower for sandy returns.
Parking
Thanks to the undercover parking bays, there’s enough space to park two cars at The Hideout with a socket suited to the charging of an electric car too. If you're heading down to Mawgan Porth Beach, we'd recommend driving rather than walking as the narrow roads aren't necessarily pedestrian-friendly.
Hot Tub
A magnificent cedar clad hot tub sits just outside of the master bedroom, making a twilight dip sound all too tempting. Slip into the bubbles as the sun sets to take in spectacular views over Mawgan Porth Beach.

We loved this house - its tucked away but has spectacular views over Mawgan Porth. The hot tub, cinema room and games room were a blessing on rainy days. My children were thrilled with the climber/slide in their bedroom - we'll be back!
”Such a super week staying at The Hideout. Fantastic location with views of the beach. The property was comfortable, well presented and had everything we needed. We made the most of the very cool games room, cinema room and the lovely large cedar hot tub. All in all a really lovely property in a great location. Perfect Stays made sure that our week was such a success. We look forward to staying there again.

”The Hideout is a perfect location for enjoying Mawgan Porth and its surrounding bays. It's a quick walk down the hill to the great beach, a few shops and excellent restaurants. We highly recommend this property and it was perfect for dogs too.
”Perfect Stays says it all really! We have had the most wonderful week at The Hideout in Mawgan Porth. The team at Perfect Stays made the whole booking experience easy and they were prompt to reply to any queries we had before and during our stay. A beautiful and well-appointed property with lots of lovely touches, and the welcome hamper was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend!
”It is what it says on the tin.... Perfect Stays! The Hideout in Mawgan Porth is a superb house, with everything you'd need for a relaxing stay. The care that Perfect Stays provided made it even better - I doubted that would have been possible. Particularly the information provided on the guest tablet - not only about the house, but also recommendations for the best dog-friendly beaches and restaurants etc. We also used their Concierge service to arrange an excellent dog walker and a private chef, Food by Ryan. The food was outstanding and rivalled any Michelin-star restaurant we've been to, so we'd highly recommend.
”We had a great stay at The Hideout, it's such a wonderful property with everything we could think of and more! It was spotless and we enjoyed the welcome hamper. Mawgan Porth is a great village, we had lunch at The Catch and stocked up with supplies from the deli. The Concierge team were really helpful with bookings, would definitely stay here again!
”Perfect Stays went above and beyond to make our stay at The Hideout in Mawgan Porth. Just what we'd hoped for and we left feeling relaxed and recharged. The property itself is stunning and communication throughout from Perfect Stays was great and we would highly recommend.
”Recently stayed at The Hideout in Mawgan Porth with my family and 2 dogs. Wow, the place was amazing. From the sea views to the luxurious accomodation that catered for your every single need. The kids loved the games room, cinema room and hot tub while we chilled with a glass of wine outside taking in the stunning views. All the team at Perfect stays including housekeeping went above and beyond to make our stay exceptionable and most of all memorable. Thankyou.
”We booked a three generation family week's holiday with Perfect Stays at The Hideout in Mawgan Porth in August 2021. We had a wonderful time although the weather could have been kinder. We used Perfect Stays' very helpful concierge service before our stay. Accessing their recommendation list of restaurants and activities they were able to book early for us avoiding uncertainty and disappointment. The Hideout was an amazing house and the cinema and games room came into its own due to the weather. The bedroom configuration worked perfectly and our family were able to relax in the comfy sitting room. The house was appointed with all you required. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture and Paul and Jenny Collins' management team were really helpful. We also loved the hot tub.
I'd like to thank the team of Perfect Stays for all their help and recommendations which were a key part to making our holiday a success. I'm certainly going to scan their website for another property for next year - but I expect it will be difficult to book such a lovely house again in the peak of August. Thank you Perfect Stays team.
”We had the most amazing Christmas in this wonderful house. It was so clean and had everything we could possibly need for the week, not to mention the surprise hamper on our arrival. This is a truly beautiful house, so much light, wonderful views and very private spaces. We felt so at home and would not have wanted to be anywhere else. We will definitely be going back!
”From the minute of booking to the end of our stay, Perfect Stays were brilliant. They helped us book restaurants, wetsuits and even our Personal Chef. They responded to any query immediately however small the matter. Their service was exemplary. Our house was great and Mawgan Porth was perfect. Have used Perfect Stays before and will definitely continue to do so when possible.
