Home > Our Properties > Laflouder Thatch
Nestled amidst sandy beaches and Cornish lanes, bring fairytales to life at Laflouder Thatch. Rustic-luxe interiors, an outdoor pool and sea views promise unforgettable holidays.
  • Heated outdoor swimming pool
  • Far-reaching ocean views
  • Games room with pool table
  • Self-contained annexe
  • Dedicated garden room
  • Enclosed dog-friendly garden

Step inside this storybook home to discover gorgeous country interiors and stunning coastal views. Featuring a kidney-shaped outdoor pool, a games room and a self-contained annexe, guests will be spoilt for choice with indoor and outdoor space. Occupying a coveted position in the historic village of Mullion, the cottage's traditional thatched roof and carefully curated furnishings create a welcoming and luxurious escape.

Designed to complement its period features, stone walls and exposed beams work harmoniously alongside colourful soft furnishings throughout the ground floor. The original stone fireplace has been given a new lease of life with a flickering wood burner that's best enjoyed over wine and games. Meanwhile, the open plan kitchen and living area is light and bright, with easy access into the garden.

Complete with a heated pool and inviting garden room, the expansive English country garden enjoys views across glistening tides and pockets of jewel-green countryside. Spread across two gently staggered tiers, return from days on the sand at Polurrian Cove and cook up family feasts on the barbeque and outdoor kitchen, before a twilight dip beneath the stars.

Upstairs, three of the four bedrooms are tucked underneath vaulted ceilings, including the master suite which is accessed via its own staircase. Each bedroom features a pared-back colour palette that's complemented by warm woods and vibrant pops of colour thanks to velvets and furs. In a newly refurbished building at the end of the garden, you'll find a self-contained annexe with the final bedroom, en-suite bathroom and kitchenette. Sleeping two guests, it's a tranquil retreat that's slightly separated from the buzz of the main house, and where every small detail has been considered to ensure a tasteful cottagecore aesthetic.

Home to traditional pubs, sea-view restaurants and bijou art galleries, Mullion is the largest village on the Lizard Peninsula. Despite its rise in popularity, the village retains much of its medieval charm, making it a must-visit destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. With popular foodie destinations like Porthleven and St Ives a short drive away, there’s plenty to fall in love with on your doorstep.

More about theGround Floor

Kitchen and Dining Area

With soft plum cabinetry and marble countertops, the kitchen is a beautiful blend of contemporary amenities and traditional charm. An open plan design creates a space that's both functional and inviting. The sleek breakfast bar with four rattan stools promises a relaxed atmosphere to dine with family, while the kitchen island sits beneath wooden beams.

Sat above the Smeg oven, open shelving displays an array of ceramic dishware and kitchen essentials, keeping everything within easy reach. Complete with an induction cooktop and Samsung microwave, every amenity has been seamlessly integrated into the cabinetry, offering both convenience and style.

Next to the kitchen, the dining area maintains the same charming aesthetic. Sat atop sleek black tiles, a long wooden table stretches across the room, providing the perfect setting for warm croissants and fresh coffee each morning. When evenings draw in, there's also an additional circular table complete with two burnt orange stools that serves as the perfect setting for card games. A wooden staircase sits just opposite and provides the master bedroom with its own access.

WC

Housing a large larder fridge, the ground floor WC takes on a muted colour palette and has additional storage for toiletries.

Living Area

Just off the dining area, descend a small set of slate steps to find this spacious yet cosy lounge. Two plush cream sofas are arranged neatly around a marble-topped coffee table. Both adorned with an array of colourful, patterned cushions and soft fur throws, they invite guests to sink in and relax in front of the Sony smart TV.

All the while, low, wooden beamed ceilings create an intimate atmosphere and soft, ambient light filters through the windows. An inviting space year-round, stoke the wood burner that sits inside an original stone fireplace on colder nights, or step straight out into the garden in the summertime and plunge into the pool within seconds.

Finished in crisp whites and dark oak furniture, the home’s signature style is echoed throughout this bedroom, while a sleek en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower can be found just next door. Complete with a slate grey headboard and flanked by two wooden bedside tables, the king size bed sits comfortably to the left of this space, while a duck-egg blue armchair and rustic chest of drawers sit to the side.

The master suite is accessed through a separate staircase from the ground floor lounge, making it a peaceful and private sanctuary to retire to each night.

Exposed rafters and two grilled windows bring a soothing atmosphere to this light and airy twin room. Peach upholstered headboards complement fresh white walls, while subtle touches of red are dotted throughout. A light grey chest of drawers sits opposite the 5ft zip and link bed which can be made up as twins or zipped together, and two matching bedside tables sit either side.
