Rock Beach is dog-friendly all year, so your four-legged friends needn’t miss out on coastal adventures. Being located along the River Camel means the waters are usually calm and sheltered. The Rumps to Polzeath
This circular trail showcases one of Cornwall’s most iconic views. Beginning at Lead Mines National Trust car park, follow the coastal path to Com Head, where you’ll be treated to a beautiful vista encompassing Port Isaac Bay. The trail then charts its way to Rumps Point, home to a striking twin-headland formation with Iron Age fortifications. Rock to St Minver
Navigate the dunes from Rock to Daymer Bay and marvel at sweeping views across to the Doom Bar. You’ll soon arrive at St Enodoc Church, a curious landmark with a leaning spire and bundles of historic intrigue – it’s also the burial places of poet Sir John Betjeman. The route then passes several traditional Cornish pubs on its way to the fields of St Minver, before winding along the Camel Estuary. Find full details here.
Regular passenger ferries run from Rock to Padstow throughout the year. The scenic journey crosses over the River Camel and takes around five to ten minutes, considerably shorter than the half-hour trip by car. Dogs and bikes can travel too.
